Personally, I don't think there would be a need for a ton of tips if tutorial island were reimplemented.
Anyway...
- Check your quests list. That's the compass symbol in the tab bar. You should do as many quests as you can. You can get valuables, but most importantly, you can get a ton of xp.
- Complete tasks. Some of the tasks are fairly easy, but most will require a certain level in a skill or two.
- Explore various dungeons, such as the Stronghold of Player Safety, the Stronghold of Security, the Lumbridge catacombs(great for starting players), the Varrock Sewers(Beware, higher level enemies deep in the sewers), the Dwarven Mine, or the Edgeville dungeon.
- Explore the various towns and areas of Runescape.
- Try to train all of the skills you can. This will increase the variety of things you can do, as well as allow you to do quests and will get you more things you can sell for money.
- How to get money: Kill enemies, sell enemy dropped items, sell resources collected through using non-combat skills, complete quests, acquire the treasure contained in certain dungeons, and more.
- Here's a warning. Don't get scammed. The most common scam is the "Doubling Money" scam. People will say they're doubling money and may say things like "legit" or "test", but neither shows that it is truely legit. Here's what to do. Initiate the double by trading with them. Put your money in the trade window. If they accept before they put the money on their side, decline the trade. Tell them to do one trade. If they decline, report them for scamming. You can find common scams by clicking community at the top of the RuneScape webpage, selecting support centre, scrolling to Safety center and clicking "Keep safe", clicking keep safe again, and choosing "Ingame known scams".

welcome new comersYour skills are the most important part of the game and can work to your advantage in making money and doing the quests that runescape has to offer. But just remember you have to start at the bottom and work your way up. So making money and levelling up you skills is a slow process.I remember when i started doing quests i had a mining curse, every time i did a mining quest to open a new mining area, i died, but i kept plunging away at it.Quests open new areas and new adventures.I am not qualified to tell you how to make money, because each person has their own way of making money, for instants i combine certain skills to make money and if i get bored of doing something i will find something else to work on.You need money to buy better armour and weapons that you can use, but just remember don't buy armour or weapons that you can't use because your skills aren't high enough.Use the grand exchange to sell items you have picked up but don't get frustrated because it does not sell right away.Mini games offer certain items that give you extra xp for certain skills which is helpful and can be profitable but you would have to ask someone or look it up, because i have personal not played most of the mini games.Joining can be very helpful too,but again you would have to ask around because i am not in a clan.I live by this rule, if you can't afford to replace your armour or weapon, don't go into high risk areas where if you die you lose your stuff.Don't be rude, if someone says hi, say hi back so they don't think you are a bot. Don't get upset because someone calls you a noob, just think of it this way, the person calling you a noob use to be one too.I look at it this way everyone is a noob except for those players that have maxed out all their skills, have done all the quests and have done all the mini games and have conquered all the boss monsters. So have fun and enjoy yourself and see you around the runescape world and good luc

Security is a big part of being able to play the game successfully, so here are some tips that will help keep your account secure:
- Set a Bank PIN - This will ensure no items that you have in your bank will be stolen in the event of a hijacking.
- Never go to the sites you may see while playing the game - autotalkers are usually set up to lead you to gold-selling sites. Not only are these against the rules, they may contain viruses, and other harmful material.
- Remember to set recovery questions when you first start the game. Also remember to change your pass word periodically.
================
Now for some actual game tips:
- Make friends. When all else fails, you can ask a friend, who may turn out to be a lifesaver depending upon your situation. Friends also make the game much more enjoyable and fun, so be sure to make plenty. :)
- Bury any bones you find when you first start out. Prayer is a slow and tedious skill when you first begin, but if you keep with it, it is well worth it when you get to higher levels. Also on the note, remember to select quick prayers when you start getting more and more prayers unlocked. This is a quick alternative than manually going to the prayer interface and selecting the prayers you wish to use.
- Become familiar with some of the game's features and what they do - such as filtering the game, chat settings, use of your inventory and other things, etc.
- Be social. You'd be surprised that there is a world that stretches far beyond just that of the game. By joining clans, friend's chats, attending events, and becoming active on the forums, you'll come to discover the vast community RuneScape possesses, and the people in it. It's a lot of fun, so be sure to keep that in mind with everything else on your "To-do list".
Best of luck and happy scaping.

Complete the Burthorpe Introductory tasks, as they give free GP to help you get started.

Tips for new players:
- Don't be afraid to talk to people and ask for help (as opposed to asking for money). For every rude person you meet and place on your ignore list, you'll find others who are friendly.
- Explore! Try to go everywhere, but be cautious and don't carry your expensive items with you. When you see items on the ground, pick them up and sell them at the Grand Exchange. The 50 gp you get for selling a hammer is 50 more gp in your money pouch.
- Find activities that you enjoy and don't worry if someone criticizes them as a waste of time. It's *your* account and *your* enjoyment.

And now, two gentle suggestions for video-makers:
- Learn the difference between "your" and "you're".
- Always check spelling - "Burthorbe".
