1) There are many fansites to help you, so, if you are unable to find some help I suggest you check at first the runescape website guide, you're most likely to find the answer there, however, if the question is more touchy I'm sure you can find an answer on one of the fansites promoted by runescape
2) Don't be afraid to be new to the game, when I started this game, it was the times I had much more fun, although it was on runescape classic, I feel like the most fun part of a game is when you start up and discover everything.
3) If you see a loadstone, activate it, doing so will result in you being able to come back EXACTLY at that spot whenever you want by using the home teleport features, home teleport costs you nothing it's free to use and it's unlimited.
4) Many players will try to offer you "cheats" or try to contact you claiming they work for jagex and suches, this is not true, it's a ruse to try to steal other people's account. I suggest you report them or add them to ignore list so they aren't a hassle anymore
5) You'll find that many player try to tease others, the best way is to just ignore them, they'll give up much faster than if you try and argue for hours with them, if you don't care and know you have nothing to prove - walk away.
6) There's a lever in edgeville and ardougne, I suggest you don't pull it, it will lead DEEP inside wilderness (wilderness is one of the places where players can fight one other and LOSE their items). Same goes with the ditch where a warning screen will pop up to tell you you are about to enter wilderness - I suggest you don't enter wilderness (or if you do you bank all your items before) before you're very familiar with runescape.
7) Try to check the map - It's pretty informative, there are many icons to tell you where shops/quests/suches are.
8) While fighting, charms are dropped, collect them for later use even if they aren't tradeable these are hard to obtain to work on summoning skill so it's best (continued)

8, continued) You start working on picking up charms at low level and towards all your leveling
9) This game is much more fun with people to play with, try to get familiarised with people you like, that seem to have the same interest as you, it's always nice to have a friend come fishing or woodcutting with you for instance, not only you will increase your skills but you'll be able to keep up a fun conversation if you have a friend of your interest
10) Asking for free money usually doesn't work out too great, people will be rude, say negative comments, you'd have more chance asking how to make money and making it. Amongst the skill list, many will profit you - you may also train combat and hope for drops but in either case... Making money TAKES TIME. Just like in real life, money doesn't fall off the trees in RuneScape (unless you chop the logs and sell it). If you do not wish to level your skills, there are many things that can be collected but usually are in dangerous areas (such as kalphite lair for potato cactus for members, or collecting snape grass... if everything else fails, flax may be picked but that is considered a fairly slow money making method)
11) Try to familiarise yourself with the forums, the "behind the scenes"(this month's update) many useful and interesting information is always found there, also, make sure you read the news frequently on runescape to watch out for new content.
12) Some special have weapon attacks at the moment, if you find one you may use (such as the tutorial items) try and use this to your advantage, not only you'll have a special hit with your special attack but you'll also gain exp according to how high you hit
13) This is the most important advice I have to give you, try and have fun, this is a game and this is what you're meant to obtain off it, remember that if you aren't having fun then you aren't doing it right and you should reconsider changing how you play and do something else on the game, many possibilities! :)

1) Okay, when you start of Runescape, you're going to be a non-member, but don't worry, all you need at the start is all available to non-membs, what I started off doing was quests, and then tasks and skilling till I was bored to death, and exploring everything there is to non-membership.
2) Oh great, I've rinsed non-membership out, and I'm not willing to become a member.
WRONG! Membership is the best thing ever, at least give it a try for only ONE MONTH, it only costs a fiver for one month only (£4.95, I think). Then you'd see there's so much more, so so much more to this game, there's voice-quests, voice-NPCs, new mini-games, new skills, a lot better money-making methods, what could I possibly start with?
3) Try starting off membership by teleporting to the Burthorpe Lodestone, I'm not going to say anymore, just teleport there, first thing you do, you'd love it, you have my word. :-)
And most of all, have fun, skill, quest and socialise. :) I'd say this is all I do in Runescape all of the time. :P
If you can't be a pencil to write anyone's happiness, then try to be a nice eraser to remove someone's sadness.

New to RS and need some coins?
- Arhein in Catherby sells you 80 seaweed ea day at 2gp ea. That's like 20k profit ea day for selling on the GE and like 600k ea month. He also sells 40 pineapple ea day which are good for making super-compost and start farming.
- The Stronghold of Security gives 10k gp. A sneaky lvl3 with some food may unlock all rewards.
- The Stronghold of Player Safety gives 10k gp and some xp lamps.
- Completing tasks (the green check box button) in the task system will also give you some money which sums up in the end.
____

Some tips for exploring:
- don't wear your best gear and don't have all valuable items in your inventory
- grab some food, anti-poison and a quick teleportation tab maybe
- don't tease tribesmen
