They've got us like fish in a barrel =,C. This isn't a permanent thing right? Runescape will be traded off again to someone else in a couple months, this is just a momentary transition, we aren't really going long term with a Chinese mining company, are we???

The response to how much say the new investors will have on the direction of gameplay doesn't have much substance to it--

They're investors and invested in the success of Jagex. Jagex /should/ at least listen to what its investors have to say, since latter might have insight on successful business models or ideas. Well 300m is 13x (23.5m) stated jagex profits for the year 2015 so either we have a good stakeholder who'll be in for a half dozen years, or they'll push up expected profit margins which comes from bonds not memb price hikes and f2p ads.

Sorry Pips, but I'm not buying it. Everything you say can be condensed into one sentence:

"The company will have a new owner but we believe that said new owner will not even try to interfere in the way we run it."

And if you really believe that, I have a bridge you might like to acquire...

it's not paranoia, it's being logical.

You don't buy 100% of the stocks of a company just to "let it run as normally". Any assurances that the company will run the way it is being run now is moot.

Simply put. Why should we trust Jagex considering how things played out when IVP took over?

You shouldn't because Jagex have zero say in what happens to Runescape should this deal go forwards.

The OP is nothing more than weak damage control. Sip Yep, RuneScape was a good game.

Well all things considering, should things take another turn for the worse, I won't stick around. I'll head back over to WOW or any number of the other hundreds of games that are currently on the market.

You say this but Jagex know full well that the majority of people can not do this because they are so addicted to rs and that is the reason they don't care and will sell out to the 1st person that shows an interest, no matter how bad or good it will become for this game. [qfc id=]whatever[/qfc]
