I'm confused on the $300M... Let's say out of the ~250M accounts, only 500,000 of them have Membership, which we'll value at $5 USD/month. Off MEMBERSHIP alone you're clearing 2.5M/month this does not include Solomons junk or ads from F2P, or Merc*.
China for games is a scary scary place, yes, LoL is a very popular game, it's also a very different game related to Runescape. Runescape is a game where one very bad choice spells disaster and depending on what this Chinese company does, (I thought they were a data mining company at first until I read the articles, it's a legit MINING company.) could destroy the game.
Agreeing with everyone posting before me, you guys seem to have already made up your minds with your wording. Same with most of the news sites that are reporting about this, they're taking your words with a grain of salt.
I don't think you should bother with a $300M offer. Yeah, it's $300M now, but this game could be worth so much more. This isn't a Merger, you have it right in the title. Acquisition. You're outright selling either MOST of your stocks to lose controlling rights to the game, or you're selling the entire game to a company located in a region that is notorious for Gold Farming, Botting, Phishing, Scamming, wrecking games, etc. Not saying this company will do that, but the area they operate out of speaks for itself.
I'd also like to say, that I'm writing this based on information not from Jagex/This company, just common hearsay. Until Jagex decides we are important enough to include in this and not give us garbage filled with legal wording to basically do what they want, even if they said they wouldn't do it on this thread. This company wants to take over Jagex, they can say they'll stay in the UK, once they sign the rights over, they don't have a choice in that matter.
Add me in game! I desperately need friends. (So says the real world.)
