First of all, if you payed any attention to the video, or read the news post, you would find they didn't say anything about this being an effort to stop RWT.

Did you not pay attention to the video or the news post? They mentioned several times that one of the purposes of this is to end RWT. While they may not have explicitly stated that was the sole purpose, they did so very implicitly. You do not have to directly state something for it to be true or stated in anyway, and they did state that this would, in their eyes, end RWT.

So, through logic and reasoning, we can know that they created Bonds for the purpose of combating RWT. This method of reasoning is generally explained as "reading between the lines."

Please. Enlighten me with quotes of several instances where they stated this update is their attempt to stop RWT.

Hi,

I'm Commodore c 64 c, and I've just become a gold farmer. The ability for me to play in the game and collect gold, then trade that gold for a Bond that I can use for membership (that someone else paid RL money for).

That makes me, and everyone else that buys a Bond in game, for gold that we've collected in-game --
a Gold Farmer
.

This was what was intended?

Hmm, you do not wish to sell in-game cash, yet right now 5$ effectively buys you 8-12mill...

I do like the concept of people being able to get membership through PLAYING the game (also means more F2P's might actually join us on P2P worlds!!!). However, I still fail to see how this will eliminate the problem xD

I will keep paying my $5 membership fee each month for a while,as long as I am getting
some pleasure from playing.
But I feel having to hear chatter about bonds everywhere will cause me to keep more and more to myself, and feel like logging in less frequently. This promises to be way more annoying than SoF promotions. I can even foresee possibly losing interest all together.

It makes me sad.

Wow once again a bunch of ppl acting like fools over a game that's right a GAME. If you don't like bonds don't buy them trade with them have anything to do with them. As with anything in life no demand equals the termination of the supply. This game has evolved over the years to stay competitive with other similar games and to continuously attract new players. Its basic business if you can't stop rw gold trading then make it so the game actually profits from it. How this hurts the game I am not sure it will increase the amount of cash flow to Jagex who can then in turn apply it in part to the game. Every time there is a significant update to Runescape 1% of the members jump on here screaming doomsday and as I have often said before if you don't like it don't play it. I have quit and restarted 3 times over the years though never for game reasons but rw reasons. I guess bottomline put it in perspective if it isn't hurting you in the rw why is it an issue.
