Dear Mod Mmg, I just want to compliment your speech on bonds in the video. You kept very calm and the way you presented yourself and the way you spoke made me feel like you really care about RuneScape. I think a lot of us were beginning to think that the Jagex company was caring less and less about the game. You saying "God Bless" at the end of the video meant a lot to me as well because of my religious background. Thanks.

I'm with Microglass, I'll be able to decide after about a week or so. And as this is currently the "hot topic", could you dear Jagex Mods send somebody over to RuneScape Classic to come ban the bots? We're a part of the community too. Thanks! Looking at my post history in 2022 has made me realize I may have had a very minor case of serious brain damage as a kid.

I am more surprised there is greater outrage over the fact that 40% of MEMBERS ARE PAYING FOR GP!!!!!

I never thought the percent was so large. No wonder how people got so much money. I feel cheated. They didn't banned them because Jagex couldn't afford to lose half of its paying members!!!!


How many hours does it take me to get 10Mil? 10 or more hours right? I work 5 hours for min wage = $25us after taxes. (Go mow a lawn for more) I can trade that in for how much? Think about it.

Old School RuneScape will now bare a massive grunt of those former gold farmers from RS3. As many of the Jagex staff and players will probably know, OSRS is struggling really badly with the current level of bots and RWT. What now? Old School's economy will be damaged even more by the influx of RS3 gold farmers?
Introducing bonds into RuneScape is only a part of the effort being put into dealing with goldfarming. We will continue to work on these other ways of preventing goldfarming.

The best method is to ban all the people who are buying the gold. It`s simple if there isn`t any costumers they can*t sell their gold resulting in the goldfarmers dieing out. Sure, ofcourse you will lose a large amount of your players. (Apparently 40-50% of the runescape players) But that is the best for the long term progress of runescape.

So right now, I can purchase roughly 2 years of membership for every member in my clan using gp....How is that profitable for jagex in the long run?
In terms of what is in this for Jagex we want to ensure the long term health of the game and we would love to see more members in the game. We want to offer as many people in the community as possible to have the opportunity to enjoy the members content.

More people will be buying GP so that is where there profit is going to come from

Well.. this leaves me with mixed feelings.. I came to Rs mainly to be part of a much more fair game, after leaving one in which cheating was rampant. Part of what attracted me to RS was the insistence by its creators on fairness which included not having your RL status affect your ingame one ( quote). At that time I did not know about bots and goldfarming etc.. yet and I hate them with a passion, but also still hate players being able to buy game money ...

I wonder about something else also: will Jagex use the time freed up by not having to chase goldfarmers to crack down on bots used to gain xp?
If not it seems its easy for a player to do a double whammy, buy gold and then use a bot to turn this gold in to xp.
