Will ask my question again, if you use a bond for membership do you surrender your "grandfather rate" in the process?

Ditto. I'd like to hear from a JMod on that point.

I will ask my question again.......If you use a bond for membership when you go back to paying for it month to month will it be at the current rate instead of my "grandfather" rate?
Using bonds for membership will not affect your grandfathered rate. They are no different to any other method of increasing the length of your membership.

However, if you allow your membership to lapse for more than 7 days then you will lose this reduced membership rate.

There ya go..

i got a question about this but it seems like forever when a j mod who is posting it in the first place is not going to answer me at all but this is relevant i pay for my membership with runescape cards which to me is the safest way to pay for mems

is this going to to take the place of membership cards because i really like the safety net the cards are giving me

I doubt you do because you're not letting your membership lapse - you're just adding members days and delaying the next time that you make a payment for more membership.

This is borderline idiotic, does MMG really believe that the majority of RSGP sellers are selling for membership?

MAYBE 4-5% of gold sold is used for membership and spins, the rest is for real life money.

The only thing that will happen is that there is more competition for the gold sellers, which means prices will go down.

Not saying its not an alright effort but.. the way he talks about makes it seem like this will actually make a difference to the major GF'ers.

Stupid is and will always be stupid.

Actually, it is pretty smart. Now gold farmer have to endure a high-risk environment for a low-profit situation....

Essentially, it is like being able to buy a membership card and give that person the code without actually going to the store, as well as not having a coin trade look suspicious if you want to give that person the code in exchange for GP.

All kinds of membership payment thingies will still exist. The bonds are just an added feature, I believe.

My first thought upon watching the video was, "Hey, I wonder if this means I can buy some bonds and trade them for, say, Bandos armor or something. Neat!" I'm not able to wear Bandos yet but I will soonish and I know I cannot afford it in-game. Bonds, in theory, should allow me another option. But I see that they are going to be dictated by the people who already have all the damn money , so how does it help me exactly?

Also, thanks for admitting you won't ban people for buying gold. That's really great for us legit players. And now all those gold buyers get to bully us around even more. Accuse us of being "lazy" (in a video game... 'cause that makes sense).

Awesome .

Amen. I wish a J-Mod would address the concern by legit players that 40% of the players are allowed to cheat without consequence and put us at a disadvantage.

Why should I want to continue membership?

@Mod Redfox;

Old School RuneScape will now bare a massive grunt of those former gold farmers from RS3. As many of the Jagex staff and players will probably know, OSRS is struggling really badly with the current level of bots and RWT. What now? Old School's economy will be damaged even more by the influx of RS3 gold farmers?

Introducing bonds into RuneScape is only a part of the effort being put into dealing with goldfarming. We will continue to work on these other ways of preventing goldfarming.
