The loud minority strikes again.

I'll give it a week before the heat cools down.

Seriously though... choose your evil: Buying gold from bots or buying bonds from Jagex (with no exp benefit).

ha! a week? please, i'll give it however time it takes for runescape to lose another 15k players.

So... whether or not jagex will admit it they have officially given their players a "monetary" value for their runescape items.

so if hypothetically Bob hacks me by keylogging my computer then steals 100m worth of runescape items Bob would have officially committed theft because there is now an official exchange rate for runescape items to real world cash.

(£3 / the market price of the bonds. for the sake of this argument we'll use 6M rsgp as it's a nice round figure of 50p per mil.)

Bob has now stolen £50 worth of my items.

now that Bob has broken real world laws shall you, jagex, be referring this to the police?

as far as I can see that's where this update has taken the matter of hacking.

Can I convert multiple Bonds at once?
Yes, but you will only be able to convert Bonds that are in your backpack.

Can I redeem multiple RuneScape bonds at once?
No, at the present time you can redeem one RuneScape bond at a time.

So I can convert multiple Bonds but I can't redeem multiple? I don't get it, you can redeem them but not use them?

I'm still somewhat apprehensive about this update, as I haven't fully analysed it enough to determine how much I appreciate it yet. What I can say is that it at least seems that Jagex is attempting to improve the overall health of the game, although I'm not sure how directly buying gold is going to work for that. One thing that is definitively positive about this is the gold sink, which is desperately needed. I'm curious as to how this will change RuneScape, for better or for worse.

Runescape just went Pay to Win.

Thanks JAGEX, for being greedy and then saying "It get's rid of bots."

God, I am disappointed.

RuneScape is not going to be pay-to-win. Having good items without having invested the time into knowing how to use them effectively will still leave you at a disadvantage.

Bonds do not instantly increase your XP and skills. Everyone has to put in time and effort to progress their account and earn XP.

You do know that what you're saying is pretty much bull crap right?

Let's say I wanted to train my con level, if I were to use mahogany logs that would be 16.9 gp/exp and if I were to use teak that would be 9.31 gp/xp. Mahogany planks provide faster xp and thus cost more.

If I were to make demonic thrones i would get from 13-200m con xp in less then 1 day. This would cost a lot of gold and require a huge irl cash pile but it would be do doable.

Cut the bs and admit that you did it for the money and not to get rid of the gold farmers. Everyone knows it denying it just makes you look stupid.

Great idea but it can never work in the real world.

Gold farmers will ALWAYS be cheaper then your bonds.
And the people that BUY gold will buy from them a lot faster because then they get more bang for there buck.
And gold and items aren't the only things you can buy from the real world traders.
Plenty of them offer time too.
Time for either leveling your skill or doing a quest.

The ONLY way to stop real world trading is by hurting the people that BUY from the traders in the first place.
If you can stop the buyers then the sellers will move to another game.

So ANY update you make that doesn't target the buyers will automaticly fail.

So no matter if you sell Bonds or MarkBurgers if the target is the sellers you might as well forget about it.
