Bonds are a good thing. We don't have to spend money on this game any more so if you really do believe it wont last much longer you can play for free.

but someone has to buy the bond for you to play in p2p world for free, so someone has to break and buy into the scheme.

You have NO idea how big of a smile I have on my face right now. I decided to see what may be on the front page of RuneScape in the last 2 weeks...and I saw this update.

The smile, was because I remembered I cancelled my membership last month, and it had already run out on the 22nd! It made me so happy knowing that I hadn't been charged again to play this hilarious excuse for a game anymore.


EDIT: Also, for a long time, I said to people, "oh wow, did you see that update? Give it a year, they'll just start selling actual gold on the website".

This phrase adds to my existing smile.

I love the delusional people who actually believe the price of bonds could ever increase to something competitive with gold farmers.

Unfortunately some people are stupid, others don't read the forums, and others can't tell that there is still a risk involved with buying bonds from jagex just like buying gold from sellers. Because of this and other factors used to determine the value of something in any MMO bonds will just keep dropping, which can be seen if you read the forums.

There's an easy solution, and it ISN'T bonds.

For those "easily identified" 40% who bought gold from RWT's, empty their banks of all gp, then brand them with a permanent (non removable) title on their account that shows they illegally bought gold. Something like "RWT cheater".

If they continue to by gold from RWT's then ban 'em.

Too bad IVP is out to suck all money from the remaining players, and won't consider REASONABLE solutions.

45k total logins at weekday primetime . Imagine what a wasteland it will be when the 'fool's gold' memberships expire. This one included.
