They put themselves in that position. Them and only them.
It is not the same as saying that victims of crime deserved it, it's like somebody say robbing a store then expecting us to feel sorry for them when somebody bops them over the head with something.

These people in my eyes should be banned anyway, so they should no longer be considered a part of the community to begin with.
The rules on Real World Trading - that players must only exchange game items for other items or services within the game - have not changed and players breaking these rules will be dealt with in the same way they always have been.

I am still trying to get my head around this. You say it is more important to protect cheaters from harm that is self inflicted by actions that did not involve Jagex in anyway than it is to treat honest, loyal customers with respect and provide them a good gaming experience?

This is a truly messed up business model but I am glad you admitted it so we can make informed decisions.

Why would a single loyal, non-cheating customer want to keep a membership with a company with this attitude?

WOW, just WOW.
We have a duty of care to all of our community and believe that we should do everything to the maximum extend possible to protect our community wherever we can for example with the introduction of the Jagex Account Guardian.

Part of this also includes protecting the game economy to provide players with the best gaming experience possible. Gold farmers can inject a huge amount of wealth into the economy each day. The introduction of bonds does not result in additional gold being injected into the economy in this fashion and also allows players who have the time and drive to accrue wealth in the game to purchase membership, or other benefits, with that in game wealth.

Gold farmers cannot inject any gold into the game without cheaters to make it possible. Why did Jagex conclude that they are more important than honest. long time loyal players who abide by the terms of service.

At a minimum, each and every known cheater should have every ill gotten gain removed as a start. Allowing them to benefit from working with RWIT sites actually encourages them to use them. Penalize them and they just might stop.

Jagex owes the rest of us a huge apology for supporting the cheaters.

Return to a weekly posting of same with a list of the top 100 ranked player caught RWIT in the news and restore a little faith with the people you should actually be courting as members.

Bonds allow players to indirectly use gp to buy runecoins and spins.
Also, bonds lets players use gp to buy membership...

Way too many people are focusing on rl rich people making money. In my mind, this is the best realistic solution Jagex provided.

Thank you, Jagex. If all goes well, ah'm excited to see the influx of new members coming to the game. Thank you.

This is one of the major benefits that we would like to see as well. We hope to see far more members in the game by allowing players to purchase their membership with their in-game items, particularly those in the community who have worked hard and can now directly benefit from that investment.

This will be my last post on this matter. I only came to see for my own eyes because I did not believe my ears when my sister called me and told me about it.

It does not matter how many words you use or how many "spins" you put on it. The end does not justify the means.

I just want to mention you might want to get a new editor.

Year of the Player should be changed to Year of the Payer.

I do hope my sister cancels her membership, but I can't tell her what to do.

Indeed.
But you say one of the good things about bonds is that people won't be victims from gold farmers anymore and buy bonds instead safely. I'm saying I never cared what happened to those players to begin with.

The claim has been in order to remove RWT we have to sell bonds, but if the RWT are being dealt with then no need for this update? Are you guys waving a white flag so to speak, because we can't detect RWT we are simply going to make it where they can do it directly thru runescape?

Jagex does not support any one who breaks any of the rules of RuneScape. Our stance on Real World Trading will not change - game items must only be exchanged for other items or services within the game - and anyone seen to be breaking these rules will be dealt with in the same way they have always been.
