Gold farmers cannot inject any gold into the game without cheaters to make it possible. Why did Jagex conclude that they are more important than honest. long time loyal players who abide by the terms of service.
At a minimum, each and every known cheater should have every ill gotten gain removed as a start.
Jagex owes the rest of us a huge apology for supporting the cheaters.
Return to a weekly posting of same with a list of the top 100 ranked player caught RWIT in the news and restore a little faith with the people you should actually be courting as members.
Jagex does not support any one who breaks any of the rules of RuneScape. Our stance on Real World Trading will not change - game items must only be exchanged for other items or services within the game - and anyone seen to be breaking these rules will be dealt with in the same way they have always been.
I understand that the RULES are the same. Unfortunately, it is painfully obvious, that whatever consequences you are using to deal with the cheaters is ineffective.
Please convince us that dealing with them the same way they have always been dealt with is not jus a wink-wink nod-nod that was not nice, and conform to the rule abiding, loyal customers that we are not just idiots for being members. Your deterrence is clearly ineffective if (using you numbers) 40% to 50% of the player base feel secure enough to RWIT on a monthly basis.
Why do they feel like the risk is worth the reward. If all gains were eliminated, I seriously doubt if the behavior would continue.
And why do you think so little of the people who follow the rules and abide by the terms of service?
Also I'd like to ask a question relating to that, why are 40-50% of player rwting? If you know the percentage of players are doing that, why have you not banned those people?
