Gold farmers cannot inject any gold into the game without cheaters to make it possible. Why did Jagex conclude that they are more important than honest. long time loyal players who abide by the terms of service.

At a minimum, each and every known cheater should have every ill gotten gain removed as a start.

Jagex owes the rest of us a huge apology for supporting the cheaters.

Return to a weekly posting of same with a list of the top 100 ranked player caught RWIT in the news and restore a little faith with the people you should actually be courting as members.
Jagex does not support any one who breaks any of the rules of RuneScape. Our stance on Real World Trading will not change - game items must only be exchanged for other items or services within the game - and anyone seen to be breaking these rules will be dealt with in the same way they have always been.

I understand that the RULES are the same. Unfortunately, it is painfully obvious, that whatever consequences you are using to deal with the cheaters is ineffective.

Please convince us that dealing with them the same way they have always been dealt with is not just a wink-wink nod-nod that was not nice, and confirm to the rule abiding, loyal customers that we are not just idiots for being members. Your deterrence is clearly ineffective if (using you numbers) 40% to 50% of the player base feel secure enough to RWIT on a monthly basis.

Why do they feel like the risk is worth the reward. If all gains were eliminated, I seriously doubt if the behavior would continue.

And why do you think so little of the people who follow the rules and abide by the terms of service?

Also I'd like to ask a question relating to that, why are 40-50% of player rwting? If you know the percentage of players are doing that, why have you not banned those people?

These bonds will in no way end rwt and gold farmers. The only think they are going to do is transfer the wealth concentration that isn't involved in the illegal rwt. Gold sill still constantly be entered into the game by exploiters regardless of what jagex tries to do. They will continue to sell the illegal gold so long as they can still make a profit. And since this is all digital, they can sell for very low prices and still profit.

Hmm...last time I checked you could get XP from SOF. But Jmods are infallible, therefore I must be mistaken.

Pay to Win would assume that you had control over what exactly you won off of the SoF. Last time I checked, the XP is negligible at best, and even after $99 worth of spins, is barely enough with consistency to get a single level. If you want to spend over a million IRL to get 99 in a skill, then go right ahead.

I thought a bond was sort of an investment into whatever company you bought the said bond from.

Okay so if I want to invest in the company, which I don't, then I get a pixel item or pixelated coins for my real life cash?

If I buy an investment bond, I expect a return when I decide I am done with the investment, not a temporary prize.

You make a claim that almost half of the player base are actively involved in rwt but you don't give any details.....

Of course not. What did you expect, names and addresses? :O

They could have explained why they haven't just banned those players if as they claim they know how many of use are doing it. Sure the gold farmers could just bounce back, but the people who actually bought the gold would have a much harder time of it.

These bonds are as close as Jagex is going to get to the real thing. You have to be a little imaginative. The in-game bonds have three conversion options, which in the real world would be when a convertible bond can be exchanged for stock. The interest and coupons a real-world bond provides are the gold or in-game items you can gain from trading the bonds. It's a stretch, but if invested correctly in it can be worth it.

As stated many times! Read the mods reply before trowing your toys out of the pram.

Not having much of a clue I can see the logic in this. I just hope it works. At least they are doing something about gold farming.

Being able to earn your membership in the game will hopefully attract new players who are not old enough to hold a credit card, or people who can't afford it.
