" Now that players can trade Bonds with each other in exchange for any in-game resources, my business is completely screwed! "

I do not see how this update fights gold farmers, really? All Jagex did here is offer a
cheaper
way to buy your in-game items with real world money. In other words: Jagex is breaking their own game rules.

The Rules of Runescape currently say the following about RWT: " Game items must only be exchanged for other items/services within the game. " How is this no Real World Trading, then? Basically, you buy an in-game item with real world money to get an in-game item. :|
The rules regarding Real World Trading are in place to help ensure a balanced economy (for example to prevent large amounts of gold being injected in to the economy). However, they are also in place for a far more important reason and this is to keep the community safe. This is a crucial part of these rules as whenever a player breaks the rules by engaging in Real World Trading they place both their financial details and their account at risk.

People will still buy gold as long as they can get it for a cheaper price than with these bonds. The gold farmers are only going to make their gold cheaper so more people are prone to buy it rather than your bonds

It is true that gold farmers can just sell gold cheaper of what it is worth "legaly" with this system.

But atleast players have a "legal" and "safe" way to buy gold. They saw that so many are willing to buy gold, that they made their own way of players doing just that.
But the biggest thing to take note of this, is the gold sink this will do. The more gold sinks the game has, the less money will be in the economy, and less money is needed in the economy.

The reason people are buying money from gold farmers, is because things are very expensive in game, and they are expensive because there are so much money in the game economy, that those things SELL. If more gold sinks are made, then expensive items will become cheaper, because they will sell less. And people will start to sell items cheaper.

this means that a player who doesn't buy gold, will be less willing to buy gold, as they can afford the things they want to buy in the game. However, don't except this to happen over a night, this will take many months until the whole thing is stabilised and working as intended. And ofcourse it will never be truly eradicated if people keep buying from gold farmers.

Also keep in mind, that the more botters they ban etc, the higher the gold price will go up on the farming sites. I don't know how true this is, but in theory this should be the case.

If they manage to make it so gold farmers cannot sell gold cheaper then the bonds, then they have successfully solved the issue with gold farmers.

This is definetly a good step in the right direction, and one more reason to say to Jagex, that they have the best MMORPG on the market... Atleast in my opinion :)

So happy that Jagex is willing to fight gold farmers this way. I mean.. they banned 1.1 million MEMBERS, that was botting, do you realise how much money that is, which they just flushed down the toilet to fight the gold farming business?
I know a lot of games that just would not do this!

And now we get to the crux of the issue. Jagex is more worried about protecting players that cheat from harm by gold farmers than they are providing a level playing field for honest players. Defend the cheaters who buy gold and drive up prices of key items after weaken the weapons we had before this year's updates.

Jagex has no responsibility for these sites and there actions unless you own them. You have a responsibility to loyal, honest customers, not cheaters.

So instead od penalizing the cheaters why protect them, insulting every honest loyal player in the game.

This is horrible. I feel like an idiot thinking the rules were in place to make the gaming experience fair for all. Disgusting to see cheaters come first. Wow. :(

I just don't believe what I'm being told... 40%? That's unrealistic. It must be...

I thought the video was an aprils fools joke when I watched it, I couldn't take it seriously. I'm just in utter shock. I also feel belittled - we keep getting told this is our game and this is response to our feedback but I don't recall any such communication about the immediate introduction of bonds.

I'm so frustrated, this is everything I never wanted.
