I think they should only be sold by an npc and not on the grand exchange. That would get rid of all the gold in the eco.

they have to use grand exchange or prices would crash/inflate rapidly. Whats going to happen to the item if you exchange it for a bond? disappear? .. It has to stay in the game for this to work

All your doing is replacing the gold farmers/bots with Jagex. You are still selling gold to players but positioning yourself to gain all the profit. People are still going to be able to buy gold... Isn't that the real issue? or is it since 40-50% of members purchase gold your going to give up your original vales and just give in.

Sure this is good for your business, but the fact you're being sneaky with how you word this is whole thing is ridiculous.

The real problem could not be solved. so this is an alternative. And you're right, jagex is going to take part of the gold farmers money, and that's a good thing. because with jagex it can be used for updates. It is sort of a "can't beat them, join them" situation. Players will buy gold anyway, might aswell be with jagex then.

Heya E Bom ,

Gold farmers inject gold into the economy, which causes inflation and massive economic instability. Only the rich can survive in such a climate, which is demoralizing for players who don't have huge cash stacks.

This counters that by allowing our hardest working players the ability to trade their in game wealth for real world benefits. Our players can now potentially save nearly $100 of their own money per year - normally spent on membership subscription - to spend on their other hobbies and interests.

The GP that they spend in turn helps the new player build his characters wealth, allowing him to purchase before unobtainable items. Due to the fact that no new gold is being pumped into the economy, the market prices with initially drop and then stabilize - allowing for a more balanced market.

Plus it'll get rid of those annoying gold selling adverts!!!

@RandyNumbers I don't think it's a case of "If you can't beat them, join them" - as we firmly believe that we can, and will beat them!

^_^

Ok, so the bonds themselves aren't the worry here for me as such.. It's more your financial stability I am concerned with now.

I spout a bunch of bs and call it years of experience now (from about 2005 to the present) I've known you guys to use RWT and Anti-Bot as an excuse to mess about with the core mechanics and rules of the game. Some I've agreed with, some I haven't been so adaptive.

Im going to sound smart now and say this one worries me more than any other to date... Is Jagex falling at the final hurdle? Why this sudden and unexpected turnaround? Is it really that you as a company have come to a realisation that such a number have used goldfarming sites? Or is it that you simply want to milk the final bulk out of the company before either selling up or shutting shop?
I can't think for myself so, naturally I suspect you're dishonest with us here, something smells mighty fishy. now comes the sad part; with so many hours of my life, so much cash injected and so much faith in the future of this game I'm now asking myself: Should I just get out now before it's all entirely worthless and gone?

Being dumb as I am, I feel insecure and demand to see the plans for the future direction of this company and game now.. So I'm just going to hate on all recent updates; With Solomon's all on sale (and trying to attract loyalty as another currency), Super September trying to keep people logging in daily, content being thrown back every other week, HTML5 BETA going silent, EoC still being problematic (and annoying, feels like it should still be in BETA) and hundreds of other random defects which raise an eyebrow or two even before this announcement..

I shouldn't expect an answer to this as you probably understand I won't get it anyway.. But at the same time I hope you understand my own concerns.

I still think you should just be able to buy spins. With these bonds you are ripping us off on spins. I care about what I can get on the Squeal not about gold. I think you should have both options. Keep bonds but also put back on where we could just purchase spins for real money.

[EDIT: Ah thanks for the edit there, not keen on seeing false quotes]

Oh and thanks very much Haj Mage and others for picking up my post! Hopefully get even a brief response to it at some point... (Not likely mind).

... *wipes the tears from my eyes from laughter.

I VOTE for Jagex to use the money they are getting from all the bonds to invest in some MODS who know what they are doing... maybe try the tech dept in the local community college or find some who might actually have some kinda experience.

Please Vote for real MODS with Experience... Oh yea, sorry laughing too hard but maybe try to AFFORD to get a real CUSTOMER SUPPORT SYSTEM.

I know this is asking much for the last 10 years... but hey ur getting somewhere right.

@RandyNumbers

Nice to know that in failing with a coherent counterpoint to my post, you respond vaguely by butchering my original post in a quote. Not that it didn't crack a smile mind you.
