I think the period of 6 months is WAY too short a time frame.


I ragequit for 2 years because of a hacking incident, but I came back thanks to a friend playing the game and knowing my account, bank and name was the same.

If old accounts don't have an email attached to it, will the account just be deleted?
Or will people still have their accounts, just no name attached?

Nice, i would be millionarie if i sell all my names! (sarcasm)

Im from spanish community and im not agree with that idea, where is the participation for players? What is ur judgement for take that ridiculous update? Wow now i will see a player with name Zezima with all urs skills 99 and alot people can confused the real zezime with the new owner name. That update ignore our rights as users.....

In a word, cash and CASH - Why player that lost name need pay for change name? and why non-member can lost ur name if dont play for 6 month? i couldnt play for 6 month because im studing architecture and that profession need a lot time for get achievements.

I feel that this is unfair. Runescape players don't really quit, we take long breaks. Some of these breaks are caused by unpopular updates. (I.E, EoC) If the update is then improved or "fixed", then how do you think the players who have played for many years and took pride in there name feel? Sure they were not on for a few years, but does that matter? That's like saying, "We will be giving away free rare items to all experienced players for a "wealth balance". The best are earned to the people who are there and work for it. I am sure the results will be the same as EoC. Some will adapt, and other will take a break, while being highly frustrated. I hope to see this being voted on.

What will happen to players with usernames which are not longer able to be created?

This character I am posting on is called L_O_L__W_D_F with 2 spaces between the second L and the W. It's no longer possible to make names with more than 1 space in them.

Will these names be 'freed up' only to not actually be made available to anybody?

Also I now have to log into dozens of accounts due to your emails. I don't often play RuneScape but I still do not want people to impersonate me.

Character Name Removal

When a RuneScape player is inactive for a long time their Character Name will be removed and freed up for others people to use.

Because you've not logged in to RuneScape for long time your Character Name is at risk of being removed within the next 7 days.

To secure your Character Name and find what else you have missed in RuneScape since you've been away, login to the game.

It was originally put into my spam folder on Gmail but I came to check just to be safe.

edit : I just logged in with this character for the first time in 578 days. I don't even want to imagine how long it's been since my characters I made during the RSC>RS2 transition haven't been on.

Please do not release names that will not be available to current players.

I have my eye on some names and will look forward to the race to get the name first!

I totally agree that there should not be a list released. let people who have that special name in mind have a shot at using it without them being thrown up for everyone to see! I already have one in mind, and the name isn't on any high scores, so I'm hoping it's inactive :3

Is this going to be based off of last ingame login or does it also include the last login on the website?

So for example accounts that are permanently banned but have still logged in to the website recently.
