Apparently my daughters name Babymonk has already been released, as when she managed to log in yesterday she was told the name was gone and to change her name, but she still logs in under Babymonk. (which was our old nickname for her

She did change her display name to 0iceheart0, and is not worried about it being a new display name, but hers was an old free account she hadn't used for years, and previously she she hadn't been able to log in as had forgotten her pass.
I told her about the names being released so she was checking
i am not sure if she was able to remember her pass after we discussed some details about when she was playing that triggered her memory, or she was able to reset her pass. The good thing is she seems keen to start playing again tho prob as a free player.
Just mentioning her name so you can follow up on this in case someone else hits this problem

Definitely going to be an obstacle when these people go to change their names if there are hundreds if not thousands of players doing this at one time...(meaning the names might not be available by the time a person goes to change their display name to the one they see on your list of names) Explain how that's going to work. You guys should just like auction them names off lol

if we buy a bond to change our name and don't use it right away, does it expire?

The bond just resets the timer for a name change.
Say for example you change your name and then change your mind after 7 days and redeem a bond, then you no longer have to wait the 21 days to change your name. However after using the bond if you end up waiting the 21 days then it will be a waste.
The bond itself does not expire if not redeemed.

Technically yes but the whole reason behind buying a bond to reset your name is that you want to use it right then and there. If you could change your name again on the 20th of the month for example and buy a bond to reset your name, and then just wait til the 20th before changing, there isn't much point in buying one in the first place is there? However even if you don't change your name on the 20th you will be able to change it anytime after provided you are a member. Hope this helps
