These soon-to-be released character names will only be available for members. You're best to use a Bond to get membership and, assuming you havn't recently changed name, you'll be able to grab one.

Because that's obviously going to stop RWT'rs from spending 7m on a bond and then turn around and sell the name for 10-100M

What about those who can't get on because they only have access to a darn tablet..i don't have access to a regular computer, so i can't even play. x.x grr I better not lose mine. I love this game and my name. I don't want to lose anything because I can't play on a tablet. I wish I could. I'd be playing everyday then!

Thanks for finally working on the name system. However, when you do this... PLEASE do not release a list of the names. If people want a particular name that badly, they will be watching. Having a list will just be a heyday for hoarders. If you really insist on having a list, wait until the rush is over. =\

Also, please consider July's suggestion about allowing a once-only name change to your login name, in case old players return and want their name back. It'll have to be monitored, in case someone with a unique login tries to sell their name and then pull it back with that option, but some people really will not want to restart if they find someone has taken their name.

As others have said, please do NOT release a list of the names as soon as you start releasing them. If you have to at least wait until the hype has calmed down. I have been waiting almost 8 years for a name and I'd rather not lose it to someone that instad of taking what they actually want looks at the list for some cool names.

I completely agree with this. People could also easily make a program to compare the released list with a dictionary to quickly extract all of the desirable names, thus making it much harder for the average player to get the name that they actually want.

2 of my children are now adults and used to play runescape.
Both probably aren't worried about losing their names although my daughter did try to log in about a year ago but had forgotten her pass. She was only ever a free member, but my son did have membership at the timewhich i had paid for. Both are low levels and haven't played for years.
Both accounts were created around 2004 -2005 and they don't even use the emails they used back then

I doubt their names would even be wanted by other players lol but do they need to contact you in some form to say its ok to release their names, or should i just contact you in some way giving their runescape names and say i have checked with them and they are ok to release, or do they just do nothing and they will be released automatically at some point.

If they meet the criterias, which it sounds like, their names will be released. I assume they have some automatic system for this as I can't imagine going trough tens of millions of names. You don't have to contact Jagex for them to release the names, only if you'd want to keep them and can't remember the login details. As you will have to log in every once in a while to keep your names but it sounds like you're fine either way. Hope this was of any use, I'll blame the time of the day if I completely misunderstood you. :P
