I have a permanently banned account with a rare display name. I got the display name legitimately, but made a few mistakes over four years ago which resulted in my account being banned. I am still an active player and have held onto the account in hopes of one day being able to once again have the username. The rules and regulations on permanently banned accounts always seem to change which is why I've maintained an optimistic outlook on the situation. So not only do I have to pay the price of having my account permanently banned, but I lose the display name? This seems extremely unfair to me. Is there any possibility that permanently banned accounts which have recently logged into the website can keep their display names?

Yes! I've been waiting for this for 3 years! I missed the first display name clean up because I was busy with school, but this is such good news to hear.

As player who's started since 2004, and plays at a irregular interval, now we are in danger of losing our names if we don't constantly play.

For those old no stats accounts that just hoards name are fine, but to do this to players who have invested hundreds of hours into the account and just take their name if they weren't playing within that time frame? Disgusting.

We will only be recovering character names from the following accounts:
- Former members who haven’t logged into their account for 2 years
- Players who have never been a member who also haven’t logged into their account for 6 months

Is it really that hard to login every 2 years (if you were a member once) / 6 months (if F2P)? How is that constantly playing in your book?
If you are too lazy to do that... good - let others take your name, you deserve it. Cool clan: The Rune Lounge

It ignores the ban, and simply counts the time since their last login (which would be the time since the start of the ban)

In other words you must get the name once it gets released.. its free for all
