Is that normal?
The codes do expire, but I wouldn't be surprised if you have ~5 minutes to enter them in order to make it easier for players who type/read slowly.
I am concerned about something and have not been able to find an answer as of yet. If you have multiple accounts, how does the authenticator work? Can you set each account to 30 days? How does it differentiate between accounts?
Jag was easy. After reading all the problems people are having with authenticator, I really am worried about trying to set it up for multiple accounts and getting locked out the game on all of them.
This is a particular worry, since I am a clan leader. I want protection, but don't want to get locked out of the game.

Authenticator is a safer, more straightforward solution to account security. You no longer need to wait for an email or answer security questions each time you log in. All you need is a code from your Authenticator.
We previously stated that JAG would be disabled later this summer, however, some players have expressed concerns over the new way to secure their account.
We have taken your feedback on board, in particular from those of you without smartphones. With this in mind, JAG will be sticking around for the time being, for use by accounts who have already set it up. It will be reviewed at a later date.
We still recommend that all users upgrade to Authenticator as soon as possible. To ensure the highest levels of account security, some future RuneScape features will only be available to those who have enabled RuneScape Authenticator.
Any new accounts or accounts that do not currently have JAG enabled will only have access to RuneScape Authenticator for an additional layer of security.
If you choose to remove JAG from your account, or you contact our Customer Service team and they need to disable it to help you gain access to your account, you will not be able to reactivate it. You will still be able to secure your account using the RuneScape Authenticator.
To keep your account safe, always remember the golden rule: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Never use your RuneScape ******** anywhere else – especially not for your email account. Every ******** you use should be unique, and never shared with anyone, even family members. For more security tips, take a read through the Safety Centre.
Shadesidhe - you can enable the Authenticator for multiple accounts using the same smartphone. Your Authenticator app will show the display name of each Jagex account, with a separate code for each. The codes used for every account are uniquely generated. You can independently "trust" different computers for each account.
