By this I mean what happens if what ever app a player is using glitches? ( Dont say it can't happen.) At the very least we could be talking hours of frustration as we wait to be allowed into the game while they figure it out. ( In reality it could be hours before they even notice it or decide to act on it.) And then there is the question of the security of the app it's self. What happens if the app has a security breach? At the very least we are risking our accounts, at the worst, our privacy and the potential security of what ever part of our lives runs through our interntet connections. Again, dont say it can't happen, ask Esperion, or the Social Security Administration of the United States of America ( to name only 2). Their data breaches allowed hackers to steal the lives and identities of thousands of innocent, trusting people. As long as our security has been "in house" with JAG, pretty much only those who chose not to use it, or allowed untrustworthy persons access to their computer or pass words, or did not maintiain normal personal security on their own computers, have had problems.

And on a final note consider this: It seems to me that most of the people who play Runescape, do so because they first of all like the simplicity of it compared to other on line games, and in my own case at least, have come to trust you and believe in you. Is what ever amount of time and/or money you will get from this worth that trust?

An "Extra layer of security."

When you remove JAG it will become the only layer of security suitable for really protecting an account.

I'm concerned about this choice for your game. It's a really good game.. And Everyone can play it. Everyone.

But not everyone has a phone. or the ability to use an authenticator on their computer.

I implore you to see reason. Keep JAG in tact.
This is really not the best plan.
:O I figured out how to make a signature..

*sigh* I really like JaG and I hate that you are forcing me to use the Authenticator if I want full access to the ComApp. Although the Authenticator is a great idea, you assume we all have access to a trust worthy app to use with it. Do you have a suggestion for a PC Authenticator? We don't all have smartphones you know. Honestly, I don't see how a barcode that anyone can read is safer than 3 questions only we know the answers to. Please respect those of us who prefer the JAG and continue full support for it not just pseudo-support.

Personally found this to be a useful feature. Glad it's been implemented and it'll be interesting to see if there are some solid stats to support its efficiency in keeping accounts more secure.

I like the Authenticator, but I'm worried about if I tick off, "Trust this computer for 30 days.", that I might get hacked. Why did you have us disable J.A.G.? I think using both J.A.*., and the Authenticator together would be better for protecting our accounts. For now I have been just entering a code every time I log on, so that I know I am protected. I don't see the safety in allowing it to recognize my computer for 30 days without J.A.*. Please, explain how we don't get hacked, JAGEX.

i don't know if anyone has said this or not yet but.. Ilove this concept of a combination to get into your account its wonderful. but some people don't have a smart phone or even a phone.I agree that J.A.* should be kept as well as Authenticator it's like a doulock system it just makes it harder for hackers. Great idea Jagex i love it a lot personally. I know first hand how frustrating it is to be hacked and have to start over.
