It took six pages to find a post that isnt just blindly willing to swallow anything Jagex say.
All the kids crying ddos have given them the fuel, now they can sit back shrug their shoulders and ignore their own software/server failings, and just blame those faceless pesky ddos'ers.

The only reason why they do it is because it's easy. Now there's less botting they just as well DDOS, it takes them a few minutes to set up, a couple more to make sure they're hidden and boom, more lagg to annoy the players.

Jagex haven't ever prosecuted someone for a DDOS attack, and considering the average age of someone doing it is 13, it just shows it's a relatively good disruption method.

There are some incredibly simple, overlooked, ways of disrupting them back. Probably not very legal though.
