That's
really
sad - a bunch of immature idiots.
Not exactly. In certain asian countries, gold farming in MMO's is a
very large
industry
; it's what these people do (or are forced to do) for a living. While there may be a good chunk who are 'immature idiots', I'm willing to bet my bunny ears that this is part of a much bigger organisation.
well ddosing servers is not like they will sell more gold lol
No, they won't. It's quid-pro-quo retaliation; Jagex cut off their money, so now they're trying to return the favour.

That doesn't make it any better morally or ethically. Just different. It still is illegal/against the rules of RuneScape and frankly, I'd consider that scenario worse over just some little boy who lost his bronze, as in this scenario A huge company is profiting off of other people's misfortune and Jagex's profit loss. Which, in my opinion, causes a lot more long and short-term problems then a typical single-man DDoS attack.
And, while I can respect that in certain Asian countries some are forced to do this, and the laws are very different then in other countries, the governments of these countries should be abiding by and enforcing international law, or there should be *worse case scenario* sanctions enforced for not. But of course, It's never that simple in the world of politics and law-enforcement.
Cheers, Chusid
Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you in the slightest or defending the actions of the perpetrators. I'm merely pointing out that this isn't just two angry kids in their mom's basement who are upset that they lost some insignificant chump change. It's a much larger (and unfortunate) reality.
Yes of course, and I don't mean to imply that you are, I just don't want people to misunderstand the severity of the situation, the complexity of the problem, and how it's huge it is. The fact that while it's a big business, it shouldn't be a business to begin with is the message I was trying to send.
just making it worse quoting it so now they can see it. It was a mistake and was sent to the the customer service support email. If i was you best remove the quotes to help jagex out. Also my thread is closed and advice ya to close it too Ty .

We are on the same page
Am I really the only one calling ******** here? I find it highly unlikely that somebody has been ddosing Jagex for the past ten months. The frequency and length that it has been happening makes it seem far more likely that Jagex just has crap servers. Also things like the BoL and rebuildathon are only further proof.
