I had to vote 'no' regarding this. When you get down to it, it's a lifetime grind. I realize it's optional, wouldn't affect me anyway since I don't have the time to get a skill above 85. However, now that I think about it, there are ways this COULD be useful. There ARE still people who PvP, and through this they could have a berserker and a main pker on the same account, as it features the ability to switch between maxed skills and prestige levels. Hmm... probably should have taken a longer look at prestige before voting.

EDIT: For those of you who think the "people still PvP" thing is crap, login to world 3. Free Players are a part of the community too ^_^ .
Looking at my post history in 2022 has made me realize I may have had a very minor case of serious brain damage as a kid.

I keep seeing in this thread people saying that there needs to be some sort of end game, I thought this was an mmorpg how can it have an end game when it gets updated almost every week, it had one new skill added this year and another on the way, either way you look at it new stuff is always coming so why do some of you think this game has/needs an end game im curious to know.

When I started playing there was very few maxed combat players. We were all running around in dragon armor and barrows gear and happy at our lvl 60 and lvl 70 skills.

Eventually, GWD came out and we became lvl 80 and lvl 90 skill players, going for max combat. Now, quite a few people are maxed skills or completionists. We probably intimidate new players with our lvls and skills.

And some suggest 120 level skills? Would you start an account if you knew 100 mil was required to max in 20+ skills? over 2 bil in exp to max? The question is how fast do you want the game to die?

combat lvl 242 crashing you while completing slayer tasks, one hitting every creature around you and not allowing you to get kills? Hogging resources? bones costing 20k each cause maxers need them for that 120 prayer? never being able to buy supplies off ge?

some complain how prestige will inflate prices of resources for new players. 120 lvls will do that more cause everybody left playing will need supplies for 120 lvls. With prestige, not everybody would do it, and of those that did do, half would gather their own resources to train skills.

Maxers, completionists can either leave the game, logging on once every month or 2 to complete the new updates or you can allow maxers and completionists to relevel. If you are mad about the high scores, fine. Don't make it a part of the score board. But vote yes and comment here that jagex should add prestige but not the score board part.

You could only switch from a main pker and a berserker at a bank, not during a fight or before you got jumped. This might also help the pking community. Get bored main pking, go to a bank and switch to berserker.

You're right, but most people would want some sort of ending. Prestige will give NO end to gain XP. While I think it will allow hard working people to get into the hiscores, what will their goals be? Skilling and Prestiging until you die or stop playing? There has to be some sort of goal, or end to skilling.

So don't prestige.

Or set a goal that doesn't involve prestiging repeatedly.

Why are you so against people having the option to keep going if they want to?

Right now, they can, but all their efforts are
WASTED
.

And why would skilling or prestiging until you die or stop playing even be bad?

There's games I've played over and over again after beating since I was SIX YEARS OLD. I am TWENTY-SEVEN.

If I or anybody else want to earn exp in a skill we love over and over again, why should we be denied that? You can sit there with your 13.1m or 200m and never change all you damn want to. Let us do as we wish, too.

It's not going to hurt you, and it might even strengthen the economy and any further updates introducing new content or filling out / providing alternatives in the current ranks as well as making the game more hospitable for new players, particularly if they don't really want to wait until they can sit at bandos 24/7 with SS and chaotics/drygores/blood barrage to actually make some decent cash for their level 80/90 skills.

As for the mini-games, many are good games, just overlooked and underplayed because there's been so much development in the overall game and there are SO MANY things to choose from - a good thing.
I'd really rather have hi-scores for each mini-game rather than prestige levels.
This would help reactivate good minis, and since most already have points and rewards you'd just tweak the capes or gear to highlight someone, or the top 10 someones, at the top of that game's hi-score for the next term & restart it every month or quarter to prevent the bunching problem that is creating the current disputes. I honestly thought we'd have seen more of this already as a regular part of seasonal hi-scores. It might also satisfy some of the

WHY NOT BOTH?

It's like saying "Well, I'd rather we rework minigames so people will play them again than add any new ones that serve skills / areas that are dead as well." Uh, why not do freaking both?

Yeah, it'll take longer.
IT'LL BE BETTER FOR THE GAME IN THE END IF YOU DO BOTH .
