The example from the developers blog shows that
prestige 1 level 1 13 mil total lifetime xp is ahead of
prestige 0 level 99 200 mil total xp.

In prestige. Not anywhere else. Much like how seasonal highscores in exp earned in a stat don't displace or replace whomsoever sits at 200m for a stat.

If high scores did NOT matter to you, you could have voted NO and asked for a prestige that had no effect on high scores, except in the seasonal high scores where they belong.

Seasonal isn't permanent. It also doesn't allow me to reset my skills at an ever-increasing rate of difficulty, so that I'm not at 99 forever, whether sitting at clay like you and everybody else thinks people who want prestige should be if we want a reason to do low level content, or not.

Dadizar said :

I also like the way you twist the truth to try and influence people to vote the way you want them to.

Twist the truth? I'm not the one blatantly lying like you are.

I'm simply asking people give changing their minds a chance, especially given it's optional content that can benefit them regardless.

So glad that this idea is failing miserably with the RS community.

EoC "failed" with the community, according to those who naysay even if they like it simply because "things died when people left.", so it's certainly not anything to do with the idea itself and the people's deeply entrenched stigma against change (oh, and optional content) or peer pressure.

Dadizar said :

Oh, by the way, I just did a star. Talked about prestige and what J-Mods said (not you) and 10 more people voted NO.

Because you've displayed that you understand what they've said oh so well, and your argument shows that you're unbiased in any way.

I think this is perhaps one of the greatest decisions in Runescape history, but I think that players who are well over the prestige or perhaps are at 100m exp, should lose no exp and say automatically be a 3rd or 4th prestige if for example they had 100m exp in all skills. I feel no exp should be lost and this should be stressed to the community.

I wouldn't call a 39% Yes vote "failing miserably".

Obviously the No vote is going to win.

But 16.5k 'No' votes vs 10.5k 'Yes' votes is hardly a 'miserable failure' for the Yes option.

If the No vote was over 75%, I'd concede that this was a Heck No

- by numbers, that is; no doubt many of the individual voters are shouting Heck No, just as many others are shouting Heck Yes.

As it is, I think the numbers just say the vote is slightly less than 2-1 in favour of No.

Since Yes had to get over 75% to win, that means No would only lose if it scored less than 25%.

So there was far greater opportunity for No to win. A suspicious person would call that a rigged vote.

The current high score system should be retained as the primary high score system, but ...

Jagex should add the prestige high score system as an alternative scoring system, which would only be relevant to those who choose to use it.

Runescape should be about freedom of choices, not just black and white yes or no.

When I eventually get all skills up to level 99, it would be good to have another way and incentive to try and take all skills from 13m xp up to 200m xp.

So the proposed prestige system would give an alternative and more varied and interesting way to head towards the 200m xp mark.

And it would help the runescape economy with lower valued items as a bonus.

So I say implement some form of prestige system as an alternative if at least 10% of high level players want it. The more choices, the better.
Over 400 discontinued items have been issued. Most of them are rarer than a Santa Hat.
Daily trading volumes now give a good indication of true rarity.

As someone who has a significant amount of xp in more then one skill i voted NO! I voted no because the lifetime xp will not go past 200m yet if i want to compete in the prestige system which i would, I would have to at some point train while not receiving any so called "lifetime xp". until they fix or make clearer what would happen to xp past 13.034 i will firmly be against the prestige system. I do however love the idea of being able to level up all over again with out having a second acc.
