Speaking of attacking, I like your hostility, I see some of your skills may reach 30 mill XP, besides dungeoneering why are you concerned about any of your work being ruined?
But yes I'd be glad to read somebody elses post for the "heavy negatives"
Rude. Will be ignoring your troll self just aswell.
There is a group of about ten trolls that have been working the pinned threads in all of the forums since the developers blog was released last week.
Their rudeness is the main reason I voted no. Do not let them bother you. They are not making rational arguments, just trying to get an emotional response from you. They just need attention and like to treat J-Mod's pinned threads like they are the OP and replying to every post because it satisfies a need to be special in their own minds. I think that is why they like the idea of leap-frogging actively playing members in high score ranking via prestige too.
Don't let them get you down. Their rude behavior does more to generate NO votes than any other argument.

What love we've given, we'll have forever. What love we fail to give, will be lost for all eternity. - Leo Buscaglia
Earning their ranks back? The ones that -won't- be affected at all? How are they going to lose them? Because they don't prestige and instantly have #1 yet again? That's not losing them- that's competition, and a fair one.
I've yet to hear a single interesting argument against Prestige that also can't apply to actual training regardless. Take for example, Divination, which for all intents and purposes, shouldn't have been released as is. It was no different than a skill from Classic, developmentally, and while the nostalgia-freaks (I may be one myself, but I don't let it bias me) should take note that it was in reference to the rate of experience gain that it was a harkening back to the old days- excusing away a complete lack of development, options, and advancements made in other basic gathering skills over the past decade is just a shameful attempt to disguise poor craftmanship.
Not to mention poor decisions within it, like making Mining juju potions completely useless because "porters are gonna do that.".
The HS and rank chasing arguments against Prestige are even less valid, in my eyes. I don't agree with hiding either one away, they should be separate, but equal, with emphasis on the differences between them. The claims that losing your rank because you didn't Prestige is absurd- You don't lose any experience or ranks made in the "Main" hi-scores or whatever you're going to call it, if you're the first person to 200m exp in a skill, that's it, it never changes. Just lifetime exp, and again, that is separate, but equal in that it is different but not sub-valued.
You don't need Prestige to advance, and as long as they do intelligently and avoid making it like CoD and any other game that has failed to carry it off by attaching tangible rewards, then why would it matter if you don't choose to use it? Do what you like.
We tried explainin this, but its hopeless.
+1000000 though

Meh, in the same hand he/she is correct. Div was a horrible release. JuJu's were screwed for no reason. And the last mention of Prestige is correct.
As I said, I'd support prestige if it was heavily reworked to be more realistic.

Robin Hoo d , I posted on page 52 a short version of what the negatives are.
1.I'd love to also add that when this prestige thing goes in, a lot of open possibilities will simply be impossible anymore, because they have implemented this system. What they offer here is a (bad) alternative to race to 200 million experience, resulting in a lot more redundant items flowing into the game , while gobbling up all the resources with the wealth a big portion of us high level players have obtained.
2.With a reset a lot of skills will generate a lot more garbage, and newcomers will be rewarded by handing in their resources , rather than having the satisfaction of delivering self-made products people actually will use.
If you'd continue in prestige to create new kinds of items that sinkholes others , like they intend to do with the new skill as well, like they did with summoning also, I see a brighter future than this silly alternative.
3.Again I prefer to see a positive community, rather than being in a list with people who achieved the same as you.
1.- That is the good reason! The race to 200 mill is obtainable prestige has no end game which is what any highscores, mmo should have.
1.-Those who want a silly star on their back of the cape will waste the aquired wealth they have obtained for seemingly no reason to normal players which distributes money to those gather and sell. A much needed POSTIVE sinkhole because it's OPTIONAL.
2. I don't understand this?
3. With prestige not everybody would be the same because prestige is ENDLESS. People would be unique or specialist-- where somebody would rank every skill in prestige and be higher on the highscores, others would do what they love over and over again.

Meh. There's no point. You give them a valid reason, valid suggestions to fix it, to make the update more realistic and useful, and they still bash you.
I'm just going to assume you're all idiots, don't read what I've posted(and what other naysayers have posted), or are just trolls.
And for those that just don't understand the NO perspective, imagine playing for 10 years. Now imagine finally getting the a Completionist Cape. Then imagine planning on getting 200m's in the skills you love to train. Hold on a minute. Is that a div blog?
IS THAT DIV BLOG TELLING ME 200M'S WONT BE RELEVANT SOON?! OH BOY ITS MY TIME TO SHINE.
....Oh wait...I don't have 10 years to waste again :c.
Tell me about your 10 yrs. I will raise you 4 more. Only I choose to level the skills that I like. I could have had 200m xp in wc and thieving many times over. After all, I know someone who managed to get to 200m thieving xp in 2 months, yes you heard that right, 2 months. The xp rates in the game today are so laughably high, you really think that getting half those skills to 200mxp takes that long? Getting 99 wc in rsc takes way longer.
Instead, I have made additional characters and chose to grind up from 1 to 99 instead, because it is much more difficult than hanging around doing pp or cutting crystal trees. In fact, I have 3 accounts that have 99s. There really is no point in getting 200m xp, although with prestige you will still get it anyways, because right now, you will just be another number that did it.
There is absolutely nothing in this game that is remotely difficult anymore. Apparently thousands of people would like the chance to relevel their skills again, it saves us having to make more additional accounts that we will play for a while, get to 99, then forget about. Many maxed characters, including Kingduffy, have expressed that they like this idea.
Monk. You've not tried to explain anything, you've simply insulted while waiting for an educated yes-sayer(personally I see Red's post a neutral) to post.

If you bothered reading my second paragraph, specifically the second half of the
VERY FIRST SENTENCE
, you'd see I did not ignore you at all.
Making it an either / or instance of implementation is just a stupid way to go about improving the game. Make training options better WHILE allowing people to display their love for skills by earning prestige.
It makes me somewhat sad that it's unlikely to happen, as I was looking forward to retraining some of my skills. Though I'm glad you guys decided to poll it, I can see where the no voters are coming from.
Looking forward to hearing other after 99 suggestions (Hopefully not 120 skills, because needing to train to 104m in all my skills to get more recognition/content would be much worst than doing prestige).
