I'm glad the more thoughtful of the few left in the game prevailed.
After years of grinding, you get to 99. Then you get to do all that grinding all over again? For a few fancy pixels? And they SHOULD NOT ADD OTHER REWARDS for redoing content.
This easy to program crap instead of new high level content? Instead of lots of new quests?
If they went to 120 on all skills I bet more people would be upset they would have to keep working to get maxed to 120.
Sure they would. With prestige some people are upset that they would have to keep working forever. Prestige has no end.
Prestige would have only added two things. Competition, and useless cosmetics. And on top of it, it was completely optional. NO content was going to require you to prestige other then that. Even then, I am sure most supporters of the prestige system wouldn't mind if they even dropped the cosmetic rewards from it.
Having 120 as a level cap would include MORE content to fill in those extra 21 levels. More content makes it more FORCEFUL to get those levels in order to do that content. I am pretty sure that gaining an additional 90 million XP to do this content would **** off the community more then an optional prestige system that gave you nothing but a rank and useless cosmetic in return.
EoC, too many cosmetic items, giving away xp too easily, and too many new high level equipment and tiers of gear ruined the game. Not to mention it's way too easy now.. Even black demons can be like 2 hit.
Here is a quick lesson for you before you presume to try and explain "technical reasons"*
Changing XP to an unsigned 64 bit (long) integer with an implied decimal point to record 1/10th solves the 200 mil XP cap issue.
The bit is red was a quote from Andrew Gower. You should, you know, have read that, and allowed that tidbit of informaiton to process. Instead of replying and showing how illiterate, and ignorant you are.
As far as your expertise in programming, or copying w*kipedia as it were, oh yeah they should just flip a switch and change the core of their custom-built codebase. No potential problems there, no instances of change that would come about and destroy virtually every facet of your argument in specific against prestige (nor most people's in general), and do absolutely nothing that Prestige would be designed to do.
It's really really sad how clueless some of you people are.
An easy poll of female Runefest attendees could be...
Create a list of equal number of combat related and non-combat related classes, which are mixed together, such as…
Fighter
Healer
Magic User
Herbalist
etc..
Simply ask the ladies to sort the list in the order of classes they would be most interested in and return the list.
I think the results would show exactly what we are most interested in, and what we (as players) would like to play. I have every confidence in my earlier post.
Why does a hand-thrown water balloon have TWICE the range of my best bow?!?
I think you shouldn't make people vote plan 'yes ' or 'no', but a 'no, unless....' or 'yes, if...' that way you'll easily get suggestions, I'd love to see prestige in the game if the players currently having high xp will get rewarded for that in the form of prestige levels for example.

Right, Here is what i think about this Prestige System. I Think, it needs more thought about it. Soon as i heard i thought, GOD NO! it will take me about 2 weeks to unlock a woodcutting oak tree, plus the firemaking level for burning those logs. I recon, And i am not going on the lines of call of duty here but i Think if you want to go ahead with the Prestige System. Then maybe, once a player as Chosen the XP Prestige, Maybe the level 99 should remain OPEN, furthermore, what i mean by this. Players can have the option to switch back and forth. If they wish to train there prestige, Then they can switch to prestige mode. Then train, But say if they wanted to cut some crystal trees or elder trees and Fletch the stuff from those trees. The player can switch to the Reality mode, Hence giving the player its 99 Woodcutting back to do that. I would say this would work with mainly all skills. It gives the player a choice, and easily a switch back. They can train it bit by bit each day. I also suggest maybe if the prestige system comes out. Design some new gaming icons, Say like a different icon for a prestige slayer, if the player reaches a level 99 in slayer once they have prestige, maybe they can receive other benefits? As in like a complete new re work on the slayer 99 cape. But keeping the original for a original 99, But a completely different one for a prestige. Its just a thought anyways. I think it might give the players more option, and giving the players more motivation towards it, something that gives the players rewards for there prestige, plus not loosing out on there hard worked 99 before prestige!
