After reading more posts, I will a agree that a legit lawsuit can be made from this update. They claim the items are Limited Time Only. They added these so called Limited Time Only items to SGS. Both the Limited Time Only items and the new skins are essentially the same thing. Example: both the Flaming Skull and the Flaming Skull skin look the same and are both displayed in the same slot. By adding these items to SGS, makes them nolonger Limited Time Only. Correct me if I'm wrong but that should classify as false advertisement.

Ok, I'm 100% sure someone could pull a lawsuit from this, and everyone would understand why. But knowing Jagex, they wouldn't go to these measures without protection from losing money, they write these small disclaimers technically that "There could be a possible release in the future..." and probably more things in the terms of service/coc that say if we play to game we agree to fluctuation of rules and they can change it at any time, etc. guaranteed. They would never set themselves up for a lawsuit like this. I've read the code of conduct never seen anything like that, but ToS is honestly just way to long, so I play it safe though I am sure they have something like this in it. Let's be real guys, you can't sue them. It's manipulative marketing and false advertising but we also were given free membership and we were given the item promised, even though they sell a better version later.

Life lesson; Don't trust Jagex. Don't buy anything from them that they say is exclusive, promotional, limited, etc. It's probably horse **** just like this update.

To the guy above me I know we couldnt sue them because they could just change their terms of use and other mumbojumbo. all one can do is complain.

know what else ****** me off with solomans general store? they advertise the premier club membership, silver got you a few peices of paladin armor while gold got you the full set. those offers ran for a few months...and shortly before it ended they released the shadow knight. other then no shield or sword & colors...its the exact same thing as paladin armor.

so to some it all up the ONLY exclustivity you got for premier club is
--An extra daily spin on the Squeal of Fortune for 12 months,
--Ornate katana (nub wep)
--Green skin (hardly noticable with armor on + bought this w/pre paid card)
--Entry into a prize draw to win a trip to RuneScape HQ in Cambridge, UK (wow)
--Priority access to any and all RuneScape closed betas in 2013 (almost 4 months in and zip have come up so far, most likely another Jagex lie)

Actually you know what, you guys are right. This is false advertising. I'm looking at the threads right now, none of them say 'We may offer this again' or anything like it.

it's impossible to make a successful lawsuit out of this because technically the ITEMS were limited edition. these are overrides. they give you the exact same look but if you get technical, Jagex never said the overrides would be limited edition

Whatever happened to ethics, when it was about service and being the best company? It's all about the money now, no matter how outrageous you have to be.
Jagex has unfortunately fallen down this path and it's only going to get worse.
We saw the signs when they changed the rules to allow the SoF, now it's come to things like this.

They need the money, that's understandable, but to think they're so uptight that they wont even pay to come up with a new idea. they've had tons and there are so many more possibilities.

If they do fix this issue, we could sue them. If they don't fix it, they keep profit and are from any law suits or action. VERY EASY DECISION on their part.... We will never get those overrides guys they planned this... It only took us 35 pages of elaborating to figure this out.

@Mints, you might want to note this since you have the front page spot.. We're never going to get justice because technically they just ****'ed us legally.

they can fix this without admitting that they basically scammed us. they can just take them out of the store call it an update based on what the players requested. of course they'll do it in the most innocent looking way possible and make it sound like only a few people got angry and they're sympathetic enough to listen to even the small issues among the community.

Technically we still could sue them though... They'd never do that and I really doubt they've even read past page 4 on this thread, they stopped after 3. :|
