For all of you out there complaining about the html5. Let me show you why jagex is most likely using html5. HTML5 has several goals which differentiate it from HTML4.

The primary one is consistent, defined error handling. As you know, HTML purposely supports 'tag soup', or the ability to write malformed code and have it corrected into a valid document. The problem is that the rules for doing this aren't written down anywhere. When a new browser vendor wants to enter the market, they just have to test malformed documents in various browsers (especially IE) and reverse-engineer their error handling. If they don't, then many pages won't display correctly

So, HTML5 is attempting to discover and codify this error handling, so that browser developers can all standardize and greatly reduce the time and money required to display things consistently.

The secondary goal of HTML5 is to develop the ability of the browser to be an application platform, via HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Many elements have been added directly to the language that are currently (in HTML4) Flash or JS-based hacks. Useful things such as Local Storage (a js-accessible browser-builtin sql database, for storing information beyond what cookies can hold), and browser-supported form validation will make developing web applications much simpler for the developers, and make them much faster for the users (since many things will be supported natively, rather than hacked in via javascript).

You should also know that all 4 of the current big name browsers support html5. Chrome is just slightly better at handling the errors then others.

Now for those of you who were complaing about not getting more the 10fps in the beta. ITS A BETA! Its not going to be perfect nor the world handed to you on a silver platter. Suck it up. Also my computer is running a AMD FX 8120 CPU, a AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series GPU and has 8 gig of 1333 DDR3 ram and I can eat the beta for breakfast. P.S. my comp is a middle of the line one...

RS2 and the RS3 beta are completely different, you're not leveling the same account, just a copy. You won't get those 2 dung lvls.

With all due respect, Jagex, your RS3 seems rather dubious.

First, I have noted in your FAQ that you will continue to describe RS3 as 'beta' for several months.

Second, I am not inclined to install Google Chrome.

Third, quite frankly, Jagex, you folks have a rather notorious track record of releasing half-baked, unpolished and unprofessional products.

So, while I appreciate your attempts to make the game better, I sincerely doubt the quality of your RS3.

Sure, perhaps one day it will be awesome, however, I am a paying customer in the here and now - and, I do not enjoy bug burdened games.

Besides, when will that day of awesomeness arrive?

Jagex, I've observed several severe issues that you have presently neglected to address for months, so for these reasons, I doubt that you have adequately prepared RS3 for 'live' release - consequently, this is perhaps your reason to release it as still in a 'beta' phase.

So, I appreciate some people's hype about RS3, however, I doubt it is ready to go 'live.'

Anyway, good luck, I sincerely hope your product is not dead on arrival.

You don't have to install chrome, and the beta IS still a beta, they still have 17 days, and third, Jagex isn't making any unfinished products! All products which have been released are ready for at least 99%, I don't think there is even any game which makes products completely bug free, before it is launched. Look at WoW for example, all patches undergo months of testing, when in the life game there still allways happen to be lots of bugs and flaws just after the patch, I haven't seen that really much in RuneScape. Have a bit of trust in Jagex please.

@K1ndus11 If you will kindly extract yourself from whichever Jagex donkey's rear end you have your head jammed up then please remove the manure from your eyes and, let me show you why I expect the platinum plated performance and quality products and service.

I am the customer, essentially I have hired this company for quality entertainment.

If I am unsatisfied, then I will fire them.

As such, you are fired.

@Robbert Hood I appreciate your optimism, however, due to the reasons listed, I disagree with you.

I expect quality and, it's been suggested numerous times that they invest more in their Quality Assurance Department in order to prevent those errors, bugs, etc., that should have been resolved prior to many of their previous releases.

I am paying to play a fun, smooth running game; I am not here to do their work of reporting bugs or whatever else.

So, if it's not ready, then so be it - there's no need to release an unpolished product.

'Install Google Chrome'

No thank you. I prefer Mozilla Firefox, any estimate on when Runescape 3 will be available on Firefox?

It most likely will be.
I myself prefer to use Firefox as well and do not know why should I choose a profit organization over a non-profit one.
Divine embrace,
Haruna
