It disgusts me when I see them advertising stuff like this, because all they care about now is money, and the company probably has more marketing stuff up their sleeves for this event. So I can conclude they'll add a way to buy $200 of squeal spins and get a discount for this event or something stupid and add another costume to it to win.
All Jagex cares about is their dam squeal now and every which way they can advertise, since the ratio of money they make from subs is astronomically far apart from what they makes from squeal. Such a greedy company that still has so much confidience in itself still...disgusted.
Yeah at least half of these accounts are probably bots or throw aways.

200m ÷ 10 yrs = 20m (realistically its going on 11) but made it easier to divide :p
20m ÷ 365 days = 547,945 members per day ?
with 2.2m left that would mean you'll get your milestone within 4 days approx. ( not including leap years)
yes how many are what Fyre Fenixx said bots, gold farmers, duplicates, etc???

yeah i be happy too but still sad about it as well :(
My Goals : 120 all skills first 4/9

I find it funny when people post positive feedback, update after update, in order to be different and earn a little attention for themselves.
Quote: "I *do* know I love Runescape and I love playing this game, and regardless of what the naysayers might think, *I* still think it's a great game."
There's a point when optimism becomes sheer ignorance, and sheer ignorance dwindles down to mere stupidity. I especially liked the emphasis when that player referred to themselves.
However, don't let my comments create the stereotype that I am always negative about Jagex's updates or those who support them. There have been few updates that I (and usually the rest of the RuneScape playerbase) appreciated, it's just become sort of ridiculous when something that really shouldn't be anyone's cup of tea suddenly becomes a handful of people's coffee.
That made no sense, but it sounded clever before you read this.
All in all, if you think about how much we pay (and even the bots too) for membership, we should be given way more than we currently pay.
To digress a little, I believe I should also credit some of my other fellow players too - many have mentioned that Jagex are losing touch with their playerbase and some have even said that Jagex have already lost complete touch with its customer population. Kudos to those who look past the Harry Potter-esque, child-aged appeals that this company continues to throw at us.

@Tim--it's not optimism at all. Believe me, I'm one of the least optimistic people I know. And it's certainly not in an effort to "be different". I don't need to get my validation from internet forum boards.
Look, I'm one of the older players here. I'm 40, and I've been playing videogames for nearly my entire life. I've played almost every mmo that's come out in the last 7 or so years, and most of them have fallen by the wayside for me. I currently play this one, EverQuest 2 and Warhammer. Why? Because I enjoy them, pure and simple. There's something about them that gives me pleasure and has made me stick with them, and that's all I need, really. Whether it's mechanics, classes, content--whatever it might be--the combination of things is enough for me to have kept these games in my stable and to keep playing them on a regular basis.
Am I saying Runescape is perfect? No, by any means. Am I saying I agree with every decision and game direction Jagex takes? Again, no. What I *am* saying is that the game itself is something I still enjoy playing, is something into which I still enjoy putting my time, and it's still something that gives me pleasure in my free time. Until it no longer does, I'm going to keep playing it, and I'm going to keep saying I love the game.
It's simply that, and nothing more. Feel free to read anything else into that you like, but if you do, you'd be wrong.
