Personally not a fan of the idea of a 2007 server but if it makes those who want non-eoc happy and there is enough of them to help support it financially long term then I hope they enjoy. I can't understand the desire to restart fresh again and personally have enjoyed the evolution of runescape over the past year, not entirely happy with 100% of the content or the slow adjustments to balance combat as it seems EoC was released quite premature but things are slowly getting better and better week by week.

This news is rather baffling actually, never thought this sort of thing would be noticed and considered.
However I do have one question. If this 2007scape does go live.
Is it possible to play on both the 2007 and 2013 server at the same time? Since you would be using the same account.
Was just wondering if it might be possible, since i enjoy playing both versions of the game (:

The only problem I see with this decision (and it could potentially be a large one) is that we're all going to start over. It seems nice now, but when we start training on chickens and goblins for hours with bronze arrows, and realize there is no more soul wars, we might lose any and all motivation.

Keep in mind these same veterans who yearned for this update for so long are 6 years older now and have much less free time on their hands.

Also, I'm wondering if Jagex entertained the idea of allowing f2p players with 10M+ xp (the same f2p players who can post on the forums) to vote also. If they didn't, I really hope they consider it. It would probably make it a lot easier to hit the 750k threshold.

Hello JaGex!

Having the 2007 RuneScape servers online is a brilliant idea. I think this will significantly increase the community numbers and will fund future updates!

I know you have all worked very hard with the EOC! The EOC is jaw-dropping, let's face it. PVM is now revolutionary as we know. Pre-EOC. 'RuneScapes Hayday', if you will, was epic. PVP ruled the game however, PVM was fun, but not a patch on today.

What am I getting at? Well, if this does indeed go ahead then I think I have an additional idea that you guys may just find interesting.

Giving us the choice. There would be nothing better than logging into the RuneScape Lobby and having the option of separate Servers. I also think that giving us the option of creating more than one avatar would go hand-in hand with this update.

Here is a quick theory:

Upon login you are given the choice of server. Upon clicking the Server of your choice you may select an avatar or create one(if needs be). Making the game account based, in effect. Obviously it won't be as simple as that but it could be a mere 'twinkle in the eye of the development team'.

Thanks!

@ Make it where only accounts that can vote are all members OR accounts created 1 month+ ago ensuring new accounts can't vote

what a twot... most people quit cause of these crap updates since sof.. these are the ones that want it back. .. kinda pointless w/o their support
