A large majority of the players who would want 2007scape have long since moved on. I stayed a subscriber until early 2012 at which point the direction of the game made me quit. Many people quit before me and many more who quit after me would love game servers from 2007, but getting them to pay money for a CHANCE to have servers is ridiculous.

What about a buy-in to vote system? Players could buy in at a certain tier, then if and only if that tier is reached will the players be debited money (or as an alternative players will be credited the money back if the tier is not reached). And of course players would be charged based on the final tier not the one they bought in at.

So to simplify... 400k people buy-in at tier 3 these people will only be charged money (in this case standard sub fee) if a remaining 100k have bought in at lower tiers.

I know there is no way I will be subbing to vote and people like myself who have quit because of changes made to the game are not rare. Think of the money you could earn JAGEX and you'd get a better gauge of who is interested.

Firstly, I'd like to say "thank you" to JaGeX for even presenting this opportunity to us to have an older version of RuneScape on a separate server. I know myself and several others felt that it would've been better if the EoC and "RS2" had just been kept on separate servers as they were during the Beta testing period, but I actually would prefer the 2007 Version of RuneScape anyways.

Secondly, to those of you ranting about how JaGeX is a "money hungry entity", they are a business first, and if you know ANYTHING about business you should know that it IS all about making money, but YOU as the consumer decide weather or no* it's worth it to you to spend the money on their product and SUPPORT an idea or way you think that company should go. This was a great business move on their part, as you can all see, because even those of you criticizing JaGeX are still making them money by being here complaining about them.

Thirdly, this is for all those people who are too lazy/incompetent to take AT MOST five minutes out of their day (when they're already on a site for a VIDEO GAME no less...) to actually READ the ENTIRE post which is sparking their interest/anger before posting an ignorant reply or asking redundant questions that were ALREADY CLEARLY ANSWERED by the original post... It says that if you would like to use the 2007 servers that you will have to pay an ADDITIONAL fee for the tier 1 and 2 goals ($15 and $5, respectively), so all you ingrates complaining about how you will have to "support the 2007 servers" and saying "I'm not paying more per month for something I'm not going to use" obviously have never even paid for RuneScape memberships themselves because it will be just like purchasing RuneScape + FunOrb memberships... you don't HAVE to pay for FunOrb, it's an OPTION. Also, if you're so worried about your stats/banks not *eing carried over to the other server, then you play this game because you like to show off, not because you just enjoy the game itself...

I'm extremely excited for this... Only question is this going to be the same server that was active before the wild was taken away and whatnot? 2007 was the year I played the most, and I can't even explain how happy this has made me, I love the old game, and the old style rune armour and everything was beast!!! I can't wait to start pking again. LOVE YOU JAGEX FOR THIS!!!

Majority of people who won't support this didn't play RS back in 07.

As a player who started playing RS in 05 and fell in love with it up until certain updates drove me away, this is something I've been hoping for a long long while now, a chance to play the game I fell in love with years ago.

A bit disappointed in the choice to make it a poll only available to players with membership, and here's why:

- It was explained that this idea was agreed to in the first place in hopes that there will be a RETURN of veteran players, which obviously won't be able to vote without having to pay for a membership they won't have any other use for except to cast a vote on this poll.

Countless (veteran) players quit due to disagreements in updates to the game and the sheer extreme changes to the game they enjoyed playing so much, a countless amount of players - that this poll mainly applies to, might I add - who won't be able to participate in it.

I'll take a guess and say that majority of people who will end up voting for this poll started playing RS after August of 2007, which is obviously wrong for many reasons..

Unfortunately, I'm a player in full support that won't be able to vote due to apparent reasons stated above ( :| ), but all in all, I've never been more excited for any sort of update other than this one.

Hopes for the BEST! :)

UPDATE: I just want to add that many veteran players who would be in support of this have moved on, and most likely might not even find out about this poll. I feel the voting numbers may be a bit out of proportion, but I guess it's a bit too late for changes in that aspect..
