Put quite simply, Jagex is making this moderately unfavorable by making it 2007 and making us start from scratch because they don't want more people playing the 2007 servers than the EoC. They know damn well if they made the servers as they were on 19 November 2012 and allowed us to have our stats and items, EoC servers would have less than 10k people on them at all times and the pre-EoC servers would be booming.

For whatever reason, Jagex will not accept this. I don't know why... Maybe they don't want to admit how bad the EoC really is? It would defeat their entire argument of it being right for the game and would make the small minority who supports it look like they have a very bad taste of games**

Jagex knows a majority of us would flock to 2011-2012 pre-EoC servers, but they are denying us this opportunity. That is all you need to know, judge them based on this.

to bad you chased away all the pre eoc players that would have voted for the 2007 version, and make it free but guess that was your plan all along to make the game so bad that the players would vote for a older version while paying even more money than before nicely done jagex. you sure know how to disappoint the us players.

"Been playing since I was 12, I'm now 21.

I look forward to starting afresh - having the equipment and stock necessary to pk will take a little time, but it will be so much more worth it. What people who only started in the last few years don't realise is what it feels like to work before you can play. Pking with gear you worked hard to get the money for, or lobsters/sharks which you fished yourself etc., is an amazing sensation which few players today can recognise when there are now players with tens of billions of gp and affording the items you want takes no time at all.

I'm studying and won't be able to pk anymore as I'm on a laptop only, but I will happily play as a skiller/main to support the replenishment of items and the community.

Bring this on - I only hope that even those who don't plan on using will vote in favour of it.

MARK GHERHARD MAKES IT VERY CLEAR THAT THIS WILL NOT AFFECT THE EOC. ANY MAINTENANCE OF THIS GAME WILL COME FROM A NEW TEAM, FUNDED BY ITS OWN THE MEMBERSHIPS.

I'm fairly happy with the current version of Runescape, so this won't affect me much. It would be nice to start a new DIY account on 2007 though, so I'm probably gonna vote yes. I think this a great idea, for different levels of support getting different qualities of the update. I'm hopeful that you will reach at least the 3rd tier, making this free to all members. It is interesting that only members get to vote, considering that there was plenty of free to play players back then as well. I would support the idea of f2p veterans getting to vote as well.
