Bad idea personally. The WORST part about EoC was how rushed and incomprehensive the changes were. You didn't make sure EVERYTHING fitted with the new combat system before dropping it on us.
And now you want to eagerly boot up an ancient copy of the game to grab some of your worst members? It'll be just as much a shambles as EoC is, won't satisfy anyone's nostalgia-goggles and worst of all (No matter how much assurance you give), will detract from the game's future progress and actually FIXING the problems EoC left in it's wake.
It doesn't matter how much support you drum up, money you raise, new teams you hire. Those are resources that should be spent on RS3, Tablet Support, HTML5 implementation, great new content (Because some of it IS great, conceptually EoC was a great step forward, you just need to patch up the slapdash job), stuff that justified Yelp's and Solomon. Not resources that should be wasted taking a massive leap backward for a notoriously change-averse community, even among the Hermit God-Tiers of MMO communities.
Ever since the announcement of the EoC Jagex has been rushing. And while I appreciate the change from the ignorant, closed doors and stagnating company you became for a year or so, a little restraint would be nice.
That said though that's my opinion, the fact this is something you guys are considering is pretty great, so Kudos on at least not being THAT company that I suggested you became for a little while.
