I believe Jagex made it 2007 in an attempt to get less votes to make it appear like more people like the EoC. If it were RuneScape JUST before the EoC update, I guarantee it would see well over 750k votes AND the EoC servers would become DEAD.

i wouldnt mind starting all over, but i have an issue with your conditions..
you state only members can vote, and u ask for 750k votes for an optimal game server..
currently you only have 100-150k members tops? so that would mean u already know we either make u rich from new memberships to be able to even vote, or if not pay 20+ dollars a month to play old servers (you stated additional fee of 15 dollars, while i pay 7.5 euros already a month)
I would like that all players can vote, since most pkers already quit when or before eoc came out..
Even than i'd be surprised to reach 750k votes.

Jagex, I know you make a lot of people happy. But there are loads who want to play Pre-EoC servers, which are from 19 November 2012. Please support us as well, we only need the EoC removed. Before that, RuneScape was perfect!

Speaking as someone who has played since 05, people tend to highly romanticize "old runescape".

The people who play these servers will quickly learn that the game itself is not what they miss. They miss their childhood, and RS is simply a thing they associate strongly with it. Most of these people started playing in their earlier years, when the internet and online gaming were still young. Every gamer I've talked to has had that one game that instilled a sense of wonder and awe in them which only a child can feel. I think the request for these servers is an attempt by these people to recapture that feeling. However now that they are older and much more jaded, all they will be able to do is reminisce.

If you were to take an objective look at this game, its simple bare-bones mechanics (while they were acceptable in the early days of online gaming) leave much to be desired and have no hope of attracting a new generation of gamers to RS.

While EoC may have been poorly handled and clumsily executed, it was without a doubt a sincere attempt by Jagex to keep this game alive, however that seems to be lost on most people. Appealing to veterans can only work to a point, people eventually move on, and this game desperately needs new blood.
