This whole article was a great read and it really feels like jagex is finally talking about all of the secrecy, and lack of player involvement. Though I've come to like eoc in certain ways, it still has massive flaws.

-PKing is the thing that made me play this game for SO many years I've always loved it weather in the wild or in castlewars, whatever it was thrilling.. but now, all I see when I pvp is myself getting stunned, not being able to eat and deing.. the current combat system is VERY broken, for pvp...

-Abilities, melee has by far the best abilities throughout the game, hitting the fastest and most consistent, this would be fine but mage and range fall behind greatly, especially mage. (this is mainly directed at basic abilities for each respective skill)

-Bossing, I like the new bosses that have been added, kali king and queen black dragon are awesome and fun to fight, they've added a new feel to pvm and are a great factor in why i'm still playing with the dead PvP system. I think we need many more bosses like this, ones that are more interesting to kill. bosses like gwd bosses (idk about nex) have become basic slayer tasks, I can sit at bandos for hours on end with no challenge. I think these bosses should also be fought like qbd and kk, so you don't have to find a world to fight one, and risk getting crashed constantly

-BOTS---this is a MASSIVE issue, no matter what's been done against botting no matter where I go I see bots EVERYWHERE, and it's disgusting.

-player support- I got reported for using a cuss in the grand exchange nearly a month ago while I was talking to my friend and my appeal is STILL pending, this is crazy, player support should be on top of this kind of stuff.

-fix duel wielding_this was a cool introduction to the combat system and has brought some interesting possabilities into the game, however, 2 handers are vastly superior, in fact, the other day I was at bandos and someone with drygore maces couldn't even crash me usin sgs

this is really funny to read actually, is it that hard to make the game fun for new and old players i dont mind about your eoc but in my eyes it's worthless u should of made worlds without eoc for pkers pures and veterans i was with you guys for over 9 year as soon the eoc came i made myself unmember with the reasons u guys gave there was no option " because of eoc update" if u guys want to make the game beter stay unique and delete the activity bar what happend to my dds specials from 2002? or my gmaul striking or an ags spec its al ruined the game was at it top level in 2006 but always updates that make no sence the only good update after 2006 was dungeoneering all the rest was crap thank you for letting me share my opinion and you probably not gonna change it ps ( i had every day 50 people online in my friendlist now it is daily 1 if i logg in) eoc would make the game bigger? u started losing people as soon you guys anounced it was coming thank you jagex if u finally do something about it so not get lost thank you.

I really appreciate this post, and hope that everything in it is sincere. I think this is the first time where you've actually admitted to some, shall we say, rash decisions made last year. A lot of last year felt like a cycle of 'bad decision -> player feedback/outrage -> attempt to spin what happened to calm it -> another bad decision' with no admittance that things could have been handled better, so I'm glad that we have that now.

I still believe there could've been better ways to increase revenue than adding in SoF, and would still like to hope it doesn't have to remain in the game, but I also know that it's difficult and complicated to simply remove something like that. I'm glad the number of promotions and amount of SoF and SGS updates are being reduced, though it still often feels like it's thrown at players way too much. The pop-ups may be gone, but we still get the daily SoF button on log-in if it isn't used, and most micro-transaction updates get their own news post AND an 'in other news...' on the main game update.

Having said all that, I did enjoy a lot of the real game updates, whether the consensus opinion of them was good or bad, and I hope that EoC can get past all of it's hiccups and move the game forward like it should. Personally, 2012 was a pretty big RS year for me, and I hope that 2013 will be as good a year for everyone.

Edit: I just wanted to add that, after reading some of the other replies, you should really pay attention to how many people question the sincerity of this post. That should tell you more than anything about how you really need to work to regain people's trust.

May I suggest, for EOC, two separate servers. One that has the EOC combat system, and one that has the pre EOC system? It could be set up like English/German servers etc. I believe this would make the game better for people who like EOC combat and people who don't by letting them choose what combat system they would like.

Any one get back at me and tell me what you think please.

Is Fist of Guthix in this "to do" list? I guess it's since there have been a couple of threads in the forums about it, but a confirmation would be great.

I think runescape has had it's best days, I agree micro payments and bots ruined the game, but now the bots are pretty much keeping the game alive. We don't need new content and neither do we need tweaking to the eoc, please, just make us the private server we all want, with the old combat system and without solomon's store and the SoF. The amount of players crashed with the eoc from nearly 200k players at the same time to +- 60k. This will probably be one of my last posts, because I'm prob quitting too, I don't get the feeling I'm being helped. This is exactly the feeling I get
What we think: this game is done
What jagex thinks: more room for new players
