Does this mean you guys will be taking out EOC? I hope so because im killing things to there weakness and only using the healing ability so it seems pretty stupid to have EOC in the first place. Plus this will make food worth something again.

A very honest and exciting post. Thank you for posting it, I enjoyed reading every single part of it.

I am very happy to see something done about bots, and actually player bots and not just gold farmer bots. I have already seen action taken against tens of maxed players that botted the past weeks. This is very positive and things will only get better.

Some decisions such as MTX payments are understandable and it's good to see the company being more open about them. Most players don't work in the gaming industry and many of them will instantly assume these decisions are made to generate more profit, but things are a lot more complicated than that.

I also really like the part where it's mentioned that hard achievements won't be devalued. I understand that high end content is something a lot of players want to access but giving everyone free 99s and the best gear in the game simply doesn't work. In fact, having nothing left to achieve would make many bored and they would quit shortly after.

Well, that's all from me. Again, thank you and keep up the good work.

(:

Thats total BS.

you ignore the feedback on forums.in the "recent updates" forums selection you never respond and just have all post removed/locked after 2 weeks because of the rules stating you can only post if an update is 2 weeks old.

players had alot of bugs and iusses with the release of EoC and you guys did nothing but wait 2 weeks to remove threads you Ignored.

I agree with Mmg and Nathan here as well. Being a part of the chat myself, he is a great guy! He is fun to hang out with and talk with. I can see his determination for this game and I'm proud to be a part of his fc for that very reason.

Hello, I started playing RS since the fall of 04. Played RS through my teenage years and I had a blast. During the recent past years I havnt been able to play because of irl issues and what not. Last year i played for around 2 months. I noticed changes with this and that. I moved and want to start playing again so Ive kept a keen eye on news and the forums. Up until now I honestly thought of not even tryin. But from reading this I believe I would be missing out from witnessing how RS will turn out. At first I thought of Jagex turning into a money hungry company. I feel bad for feeling that way but it was hard not to. Now i want to get internet and membership again. Plus i didnt want my hard earned years of play to go to waste. Im looking forward to logging in again and help change RS with Jagex for the better of the players. Till then I will keep reading the forums on my phone and keep myself updated. Thanks ^_^ ~ Wolfy~

There are 40k to 50k combat and skilling bots on line at all times. Banning 1k of them per day will not succeed in eliminating them as new combat and skilling bots can be created much faster than that. (MMG mentions the trial membership bots, too. 50k to 100k of those are created every day. Many are banned immediately as adbots, but it's not clear that those mining pure ess and other low-level tasks get banned before their two weeks of free membership is up.

MMG mentions that Optimus/Bot*at*h/BotanyBay is still a work in progress. This is moving much too slow. It's been a year since it was announced last January and still we've only seen a smidgen of it rolled out.

MMG mentions that there are fewer bots now than in 2011. That's true. Before the Bot Nuke of 2011 there were a lot more bots. Many returned in 2012, but it's still not as bad as it was in 2011.

His last statement is encouraging: "So, in 2013, we will also be adding a parallel strategy to specifically target gold farmers and related illicit RWT activities. We’ll be talking more about this soon." But I won't get my hopes up. In the announcement of Optimus in Jan 2012 we were told it would soon clean up the bots. That's been over a year and "soon" is still not here.

Words are nice, but they don't substitute for action.

(Edit typo)

Mod Mark: "Gambling. Flower Games

Yes, I did state that we were working on some content to deal with the "mobile gambling devices" (like flowers, eggs, seal emotes etc) that players use. And we are! There is clearly an appetite for high risk gameplay within RuneScape, and I want to ensure we are giving people safer alternatives when we remove things like the flower gambling from the game."

---

It's not the appetite for high risk gameplay, it's the hosts appetite for quick, easy and sure cash; talking others into wagers is what makes gambling thrive. Without players pushing it the appetite won't last long.

I don't think at all any kind of gambling should have place in Runescape. It's a fantasy MMORPG, not a casino game.
But hosts will die out in no time without their actual money making sceme, and a 'safe gambling feature' might do the trick pretty well - just go ahead!

Best regards,
Mace
