I, myself, do not mind anything about EOC, other than the removal of special attacks, I strongly believe that if you would at-least bring back special attacks, many others would be happy with these changes.

I have a suggestion or two.

For years, I have played Runescape, and have enjoyed much of the game. I have used armor and weapons I never thought I would. I have gone far beyond my wildest expectations *** years ago. Runescape is wildly different.

However, the game is not wildly different in only good ways. There are plenty of problems in the game and I would like to see some of them resolved and the game improved.

Firstly, the evolution of the game's items and garb has not always gone well. I don't like the new looks always. I understand why you will not tolerate low quality graphics, but I would like some previous versions of my gear to be graphically available. So why not release cosmetic overrides for things. Could we see items-- prehaps dropped by bosses or high leveled skilling challenges-- that would change dragon armor pieces, weapons, and tools back to 2008-level graphics? And the other, lower, metals? Treasure trail and god armors? Godswords? Could it be done?

If you are worried about first impressions from 'outdated' gear being shown off to new players (I've read Pride and Prejudice, I appreciate first impressions) could it be set to show these overrides only to yourself? And perhaps to other players that have played for x years? Could it be a toggleable option? 'show cosmetic overrides' I think that would be incredibly handy. Please let us know how easily it could be done.

Secondly, the issue of 'old game servers.' I believe that it would be a good move for you guys to make them. They would probably kill off the Private Servers that threaten YOUR income. How hard would it be to introduce a pre-eoc game. I don't know this, and would like Jagex to consider the cost and difficulty of producing game servers that would not need updating, against the immense damage done to private servers and extra income generated by people returning to play the older version of the game.

Please consider both proposals and inform me of the difficulty of each.

EOC is pathetic, it is just like the Majority of games.

The old school and veteran RS players preferred Runescape's unique game style and play.

There was what like 300k players online at any time, and fewer bots than there are now before EOC.

With EOC there are like what 60k, sometimes up to a whole 90k players. Rolf, yeah EOC is awesome... no not really as the numbers show quite clearly.

Not only has the player base dropped dramatically, the bots have increased to crazy numbers, in and all over PVM**** spots, harvesting and skilling. (Worse than before).

So like the player base is probably 30k players... at any rate it is a lot worse than it was, and Runescape was just getting more of a player base before this EOC update.

If you like EOC, you haven't tried other MMORPGs that are based on this play style. They've been developing it for years and have non browser based graphics, don't charge both micro transactions and memberships, reply almost instantly to the players and some how still make enough money to continue... I'm surprised Jagex isn't more honest with their finances... (as I assume they are not incredibly stupid, and 'need' 4x more income per player than other games that have been around 10+ years and doing fine financially).

Is there anything honest about Jagex anymore?

All Mark Gerhard can do is think up fancy words to convince the naive. He's no better than any other CEO.

Jagex is milking this game for all it's worth until it's bone dry. A harsh reality sure, but when they feel it's a goal worth pursuing they'll do it.

Welcome to the real world.

@ Taggem

You're incorrect.

I usually check how many players are online before I start playing as well as often when I log off.

You're an idiot to mis-correct players.

Get your stats right 'Taggem' then you will be able to correct people effectively.

[Edit]

Maybe you should look at the time frame in that sentence alone. Firstly it isn't even year relative lol, so I could have safely used a much larger Pre-EOC time like 2006, but I wasn't even refering to those Heights for Runescape. It is incredible how you tried to correct so blindly as to not even notice this... let alone just be simply wrong lol.

That's all they have in defence of their beloved EoC. All they can do is try to accuse you of pulling numbers out of your arse because they know as well as we do that the player base HAS dwindled severely (main reason Jagex is getting so desperate to get members to subscribe well into the future in hopes that they will stay since they have paid so far in advance).

What this pro-EoC "community" fails to realize is that if Jagex can't get these players to return or manage to pry player base from these games that have more experience in creating the better graphics, offering quality customer care (as opposed to Jagex's non-existant customer care), and better performance (we have all seen the lag, failed rebalances and glitches/bugs in Rune$cape lately) which will be a very hard sell. Why would you leave the real thing only to play a cheap, laggy, glitchy/buggy cheap knock-off with extremely poor customer care?

Perhaps this pro-Eoc "community" prefers a much smaller "community" in a game on the verge of going under.
