Yeah I know lol. It is just shocking the denial they face sometimes, so blindly and boldly.

The sad bit is, I know this isn't something that they will just have to deal with on Runescape, but in the rest of their lives too. It makes me curious to know how well they will go in the long run.

I think you might have hit something there though lol. The EOC community might actually prefer only a few players on their friend's list that plays. Maybe it is the silence of bots that steal and take from them in larger hoards covering more of runescape now.

Hmmm :D well I can't argue that the remaining 25%ish players might be happy, but on here alot seem to still be playing and still be unhappy with EOC. Those are probably the ones that like knowing they are in an ancient epic game, that is unique to most MMORPGs out there, and be able to share it with the quarter of a million players that are online playing with them.

That could be, the problem is if Jagex can't turn a profit they will have to downsize, if they end up downsizing they may not have the personnel they need to keep up with updates and system maintenance, if they fail on either of those two fronts more players may flee, if more players flee they may need to downsize even further. It is a very steep slope they face, one that ends in a downward spiral.

Just Play1n3 - You and I both know Jagex can't keep up with updates and system maintenance. If anything, they are hurting themselves more than anybody else.

Their reason for putting on the Premier Club was to get people locked onto a one year membership. That's a definite sign of desperation.

They've been all too reliant on getting money via micro-transactions and the such. All this game has managed to do since Andrew Gower left is go straight down the toilet.

I don't understand the pro-EOC supporters, I really don't.

To all who hate the EoC: Take what you hate about it. Add what Jagex has stated was wrong with the previous system. Now make a new system without any of those things. That is being constructive on how better can be done. If that list you made creates a paradox or you are unable to even come up with a viable plan, learn to adapt, because this game is designed around change.

Also, I never said that a [insert timeframe here] server would fail right away. I meant that without updates, which is necessary in order to keep it a certain way, it would fail just as Classic failed.

For those that think removing EoC would bring everybody who quit back should remember when Free Trade/Wildy came back. Not even near the same amounts of players online, so getting rid of the EoC now would be too little, too late.

Also, for pures, there are ways to have a higher dps and still be able to survive a battle in EoC with low levels, you just have to find that exploit. It is not likely to be the same one as in the old combat system.

Impossible. They aren't going to change how equipment stats work, and how hard the combat triangle forces you to play a given playstyle for every monster you are to kill. The button-mashing system is bad enough, but that can still be fixed. Same goes for PK'ing. Some things, however, isn't just about a rushed system - it's about a system that some people straight out dislikes.

Only solution I see is pre-EoC servers. Not changing the game back, but seperate ones. One developer would be enough, just look at private servers. 2006scape had over 500k people signed up before shutting down, and only people who looked for a 2006 private server could find it. Made by 1 person. I'm certain that if an official 2006 server was added, it would have even more players. Sure, a lot of people would log in and out here and there just for the nostalgia, but these people are also giving to the community and Jagex. It would also have a lot of oldschool veterans enjoying it without leaving. And for everyone who says no one would play there because of horrible graphics? Graphics isn't everything. And even then, it wouldn't be too hard to add an optional HD-graphic settings for people who would want that.

Asking for us to come with ideas to make EoC better is kind of weird, when the solution is this simple. It's also impossible when you don't like the concept itself.
