Hello Everyone.. please read this

I have played this game for over 8 years now. Its a game i have grown up with, i dont mean to sound like an idiot but growing up with a game is different to just enjoying your x box games for 2 months...

as i grew Runescape grew aswell, i am 21 now and loved PRE EOC, it was simplistic but still complicated in a gaming aspect- the perfect mix.

Through these times people have often said runescape would one day change but i thought great il still play rs2- rs3 can be for other people. clearly this is not the case.

I have personally written to Jagex claiming i would contribute the costs to run a survey for server worlds or even host a server for a day for myself for trials and media tests.

The income from the lost members would bring new revenue streams that SOF can never obtain.

Runescape was an individual game with a special community, now its just any other game, in a some what cheap form.

I know investors need to see a return but listening to the community benefits everyone, not one comment back with regards to opposing EOC- and not even in a bad way, we just ask for a way to play the game we loved. the EOC is fantastic for many people and works well for some, so operating both would be the logical step...

this is the first time i have written on the forums with something serious to say i just hope its taken into account. i dont want to see runescape die,

as explained again to any Mod i would happily front the cost for a trial basis, i want to play the runescape we love and not even the fake people who claim to love 2006-2007- the steps were brilliant recently. 2010-2011 were the best years, so much work was placed into Runescape yet the EOC happened over-night.

i would just like to have a reply stating the true future of Runescape, i would pay a premium to play my runescape again.

i would even but tokens for hours such as the old token system in warriors guild... just anything.

Mod MMG Page 9:

Thanks guys!
One of the biggest reasons why 2013 content will look so much better and is far more "player centric" compared with 2012 is that a lot of the epic technology improvements or systems needed to support systems like user generated content will start coming online this year despite starting them them early in 2012.
A lot of people don't fully appreciate the massive amount of work that is required for some of these more innovative updates however in all fairness you shouldn't need to either its up to us to keep you entertained with a steady stream of content

- What if players want their opinions heard? If you don't want to hear what our views because you think we won't appreciate it, then "player centric" updates might just be 1-sided updates like the Evolution of Combat, which is welcomed by some and hated by some.

"Two months in, we’re glad to see you mastering the combat system and enjoying its exciting improvements. However, we appreciate it hasn’t been an easy transition for everyone and I apologise for that; we still have work to do, and we have learned the need to be even more careful and responsive in the future. "

"Micro-payments

The Squeal of Fortune (and, to a lesser extent, Solomon’s General Store) has always been a heated topic of discussion. I won’t sugar-coat this: these additions were - and are - vital for growing RuneScape. They allowed us to double the size of RuneScape’s team and keep up the near-weekly game updates. Also, we've put the money we've earned from these back into RuneScape technology and infrastructure, with the focus on tackling lag, improving audio and graphical quality. You'll see these big investments really coming into play in 2013. "

Rather than continue using the SoF and SGS, which is detested by some players (ignored by most of the rest apart from free spins of the SoF), you could consider other alternatives.

Mod MMG, you could consider the return of old RS2 in 2006-2009? Make a poll of what updates that veterans want in this return of the old servers. If you do care about making genuine income, it's about keeping the veterans rather than making them quit for good. For those who did not adapt to EoC and have quitted, your best bet is to get them back this way. If you don't make ridiculous pricing, you can see how the players will respond to it.

It's up to you, to retain players, if you do care. Rather than just posting this thread merely to sugar coat whatever you like to say.

For you to know, I asked my friends about what they knew about Runescape, they know it as the old game they once played. Even if they had quit ages ago, some checked on RS occasionally. Their personal comments, EoC ruined what they knew of Runescape. It was simple to play, uniquely RuneScape.

Thanks for reading my point of view, if you do bother.

Orefist.

Now i see the reason for your post you old sly boots,it's not that you realise you have been neglecting the community,or being over the top on SOF and SOLs.
It was giving the players some hope so you could introduce the latest SOF update(a few hours after the post) in which gold selling is now a fact.
Calm the masses and hit them as hard as you can eh?

Snakeoil salesmen around the world will chant your name.

Just like what ZERK 2 W0rk has said, I think there should be a separate server for those 'old schoolers' to enjoy themselves and achieve the goals they've always wanted.

Like ZERK, I've been playing this game since ~2004/2005, and this game has changed so much. When all of my friends were playing other games, I stuck with this game through thick and thin. Reason being, it was the simplicity and uniqueness that made Runescape, Runescape. Now, like ZERK said it just hasn't had that same feeling over the past year or so with drastic changes to the game.

I WANT to still play this game because there's still many things I have yet to do, but with these changes that have changed the game, it sort of turns me away. I know you think my opinion won't matter but look at the numbers.

Not sure how accurate I am but, as of right now the # of people playing as I type this at the top of the page is ~70K. If I was correct a few months before EoC and its update, it was *100K people. Sure, many factors such as the reduction of bots etc. But don't you think that says something?

I usually don't post on forums, but it's still a game I would love to play so might as well post my opinion.

I have no faith in Jagex, namely Mod MMG and Mod Mark. They deliver nothing but false promises and poor updates. They game is purely built around Mod Mark than the players. They admit their mistakes and lie about fixing them and being open. I've lost faith totaly after all my years of playing RuneScape. 2012 was year of the poo.

If you want any chance to redeem your self. You will hold a EoC refferendum just like you did with free trade. This will restore your image slightly. Just like it did back then.

Not only that I would like players to help organise what updates are developed and placed into the game. Providing you gather a list and make an organised poll system.

I dont trust a word you say. You need to fix that.

Empty words. That's what they are.

Can't be bothered to actually post my point of view. Regardless of what I have to say, Jagex will keep that sick menthality of "like the update: you're a nice loyal player; you don't like the update: you don't appreciate our hard work".

I'm already getting heated up by the intensity of my feelings about what I love and what I detest, so I am walking away with this finale pharagraph:

Bring back the game as it used to be and host servers for RS2 pre-EOC. You can do it. It will be highly profitable. Just like you gave us the chance to taste Classic. Just give us all the options and tools to choose what game we want to play. Then you'll know if you are a good company or not.

we hate being ignored. its frustrating that so many ppl put in so much of their time and money into this game and you IGNORE them.

jagex wont get rid of bots because thats who is making them money right now. bots are paying members too. so why get rid of them right? jagex, youre a dissapointment.
but keep it up and there wont be anyone for the botters to sell their gold to and well see if u listen to us then.
