I don't understand why so many people want free trade back...
All it does is restrict pricing?
Why will that suddenly stop goldfarmers making money? If we can still make money in-game, why can't they just because there's a limit?
Why will that suddenly stop people botting to level their accounts?
It might take a few mechanic tweaks but they'd be backer faster than they were last time it happened...
The only thing it'd help with is gambling and that's not even a big deal. In fact I believe there was a livestream where Mod Mark even said they were considering making it safer...
So, yeah, anyone care to explain to me why they think introducing a trade restriction again will suddenly be the holy grail of bot-prevention...?

Decent post, really hope the words are acted upon! No word on gambling however and anyone who pops into W2 can see how rampant it is throughout the game. Although its popular it is so for all the wrong reasons and doesn't exactly send out the right message of the game imo. Would like to see it addressed in some way because a majority of wealthy players now are so through gambling and risk rather than skill and achievement.

I've already basically quit Runescape due to the false sense of accomplishment Jagex has taken in these updates, however, I love coming to read the news in hopes there will be a reason to play again.

I'm all for the anti-bot stuff, I even liked SoF and SGS, but EoC was too much.

I have no intention of renewing my membership until the game has returned to the way it was. If not, at least until a separate set of worlds dedicated to the older version is available, as was done with Runescape Classic. I'd gladly continue paying for membership for that.

@Purniix

So nice to meet someone else who realizes that the game is far more than pvp, and that 'pure' pvp'ers constitute a very VERY small minority of the game. (Pure meaning they only play to pvp.) Hence why the entire pvp chain has been completely broken and done away with. Some of them can't realize that and they cling to a hope that Jagex will fix the wilderness for the few of them. To those of you who still cling to PvP: There is much more to this game if you take time to play it's quests and involve yourself in its history and story. BUT if you can't wrap your minds around that long enough GO PLAY ANOTHER GAME AND STOP B***CHING ABOUT IT ON OUR FORUMS!

Admitting a mistake (EOC was a major one) is in no way the same thing as "Fixing a Mistake". Until *on-EOC worlds exist... none of the Veteran players who felt that EOC was a cheapening of their accomlishments of high levels of combat will come back. yes, EOC made combat 'easier". And that is the problem. All the challenge is gone. All the hope is Gone. all the respect for high levels achieved is gone. It's a pity that Runescape ever let EOC out of the box, and didn't save it for a different game. But they are paying horribly for their mistake..and a simple "I'm Sorry" won't bring the players back. Until it is fixed...they are gone. Not happy with os
