I'm very excited to here that Jagex's focus for the year of 2013 is communication and including the players into the game updates and decisions that will make or break the game.
For me, signing up to play this game some 8 years ago was the greatest decision I ever made. I truly consider this game a significant part of my life and the single greatest memory I have of my childhood. Using a terrible computer, I endured the 5-10 fps everyday with a twinkle in my eye to play the new quest, level up my skills, and explore the realm that runescape has to offer. Unfortunately, I always played alone. I didn't mind it at the time but something I did, a rule I broke, ruined the game for me and I regret it more than anything else. I botted. I got to a point in the game where I was too excited to get the new best item, too excited to complete the next quest, too excited to impress others above me to enjoy the game as I used to. So now when I log in to play this game, I don't have the same feelings that I had. I find myself complaining a lot about items that I don't have, skills that don't reach the requirements, and most importantly, I always find myself playing by myself. In the real world, I am a social butterfly for the most part and I do have one another friend who also plays quite regularly; however, regardless of the reason, I haven't found a community for me. The introduction of clans made me happy for that reason. As it turns out though, all of the clans that I visited and joined seemed to be mass produced; in fact, the advantages that the clans give surpass the community aspect. Don't get me wrong, I think that the implements regarding clan perks are great! I think it has just been taken advantage of and the social butterflies like myself are left in the dust. I would really like to see advancement in the community part of the game. I'd like to have true friends and things to do with them that aren't directly interloped with gaining something. Thank you so much!(:
