More empty rhetoric from jagex. Cry me a river Mod MMG and co.

It sad to see the game in its current state of affairs. I have been around Runescape for a long time... around 02/03 to be exact. I remember when they had games like flee circus still on the homepage next to runescape. I came into the game right after RS2 was released and loved it. I had never seen a game with such a unique community and a unique feel.

Sadly Runescapes "prime" was shortly lived. Once 2007 hit Jagex has done nothing but release game breaking updates that slowly erode Runescapes morale over time. The first of these updates was the removal of free trade and the wilderness. Throw in the GE update as well because it really took out the thrill and skill of trading for items using your own wit and cunning. The free trade/wildy update really made a ton of players begin to not trust Jagex and their intentions. You could just sense the community at the time felt somewhat betrayed when this update hit and things haven't been the same since.

The 2009 or w/e rolls around and MMG takes over. All he has done is release lame content and graphical updates which look terrible for the runescape universe. But the *OC? That is taking things way too far. I have never seen another MMO overhaul their entire combat system without notifiying the community well in advance. They have bias polls and use cowardly tactics to hide behind their decision for EOC.

All of this to say why should the Runescape community have any real optimism? Jagex has accomplished the impossible. ***** with an amazing mmo and slowly bleed the community and real players out with terrible updates.

I also find it odd the Mods ignore some of the better posts in this thread. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt

i totally agree to all your facts.
i've been around runescape for approx the same time
had some breaks but always enjoyed the game and its nice atmosphere
and all that.
well some of them updates where real trash but i was willing to live thru them
and get used to them. the sequel of fortune would be bareable even tho i dont sympatise with it.
but the eoc went ways too far.
just not aight. if they would rework the combat a little bit but just in terms of balancing op weapons maybe bringing in some new armors and all that would be no problem. even the dual wielding is a nice feature for the game in my opinion.
but the skillbar is a huge fail! seems like the jagex staff celebrated ahead and came up with the idea as they were hammered drunk. rather smoke something next time guys that gives you more inspiration and better ideas ;)

Hello jagex, I know you guys try your best to make the game as much fun for everybody, but it seems like you guys, have made mistakes, those mistakes are forgiven by me, I would really love to see the Old Runescape back, I understand that it will be hard, or impossible to do for you guys, but I beg you, and I know alot of other players feel thesame. I'm not angry at all, you guys are the creators, and can do whatever you want with it, but if you really want to keep alot of players, then you just HAVE to do something, because this way Runescape won't survive long. I've always loved playing this game, especially for the pking, but *hat got taken away by a system that only like 1/5 people understands correctly, for now I have stopped playing the game, because I just don't want to learn all new stuff, I, and lots of others would love to see the game back as it used to be, I liked it the most before the x10 hitsplashes, that was the best time I have ever had on a game. So that was my opinion.

Milfshake x thank you so much for fighting to get old runescape back! I Am with u and will be all the way! I beg Jagex to bring back the old Runescape, at least 2-3 worlds with the old runescape graphic and everything that was before EoC. Lot of us don't like this Evolution thing. I quited since EoC came now i gave it another try...i just payed for member ( coz i can't play on free worlds after beeing member for 8 years) and i am totally disappointed, i junge loged off and probably won't log in till old runescape come back, even if it takes years...even if i have to work all day so i can pay to play old runescape for one hour.

I question whether your sincerity that you are listening to the players at all.Every major mod ,designer,and leader always mentions that they have accounts and play runescape to keep in touch with the community.I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE.

If anyone inside the runescape team played as normal players they would see:

1.Areas such as metal dragons are empty now. Having always been popular before eoc remake DOES NO ONE IN CHARGE SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT?
2.Do any of staff just wander around runescape and see areas that have been popular now totally vacant and in effect a waste of space.
3.Having 4 accounts spanning from maxed to a low newcomer it appears from what i see that the staff has been become more enamored with what they can do instead of what makes game more playable.( beautiful empty areas are a waste of your efforts and your money).
4.It appears runescape has been becoming a game of mini games as all time is spent developing them instead of fixing and improving what already exists.
5.Laughing at things like fire giants..long being melee attackers have clubs and swords yet attack with range.Doesnt anyone see the foolishness in that?

I WOULD SUGGEST THAT IF ANY OF WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT LISTENING TO PLAYERS AND ADVANCING THE GAME IS IN YOUR HEART..YOU ASK SOME STAFF TO GO TO SOME OF THE DEAD AREAS AND ASK WHAT IS WRONG HERE...WHY ARE WE EVEN HAVING THIS IN GAME ANYMORE OR WHAT CAN WE DO TO FIX IT??
