I have been playing since there was still an option to transfer the account from the now rsc to the new game, which then changed combat a great deal. And I can still remember that the anxious players back then commented on the change and didn't like it completely. In later years I also tried out legacy rsc and it was quite different from then current game and mostly not to my liking.

Then when the farming skill was added, you managed to persuade me for the first time to become member for a few months (until my cc expired tbh). Back then there was a new skill every year or so and this was a great pull for me - I never liked any content better than a new skill. Also I never liked combat of any form much (still don't) and farming was as non-combat as it can get and this gave a great hope to me that this game, unlike the rest, might be just right for me. This good impression lasted quite a few years.

But then mod mmg got the top job and soon it became clear that the combat gains a lot of focus from then on. I don't know whether it was Andrew's or Mark's idea but this was a major signal of dark future for my preferences...

Enough of history. I've played / am playing quite some free online games and the major advantage of rs is its lightning fast installation for its complexity. But the downside (it might be just me but I doubt it) is that I "fall asleep" while playing rs these last years. Something is wrong, something is missing. Game feels like it has been delayed a bit in every action I do and ofc I am missing something really new. Somehow, the game feels to be stuck in its time, just like godwars place which I never visited...

You know what i don't care..
All of you stop bashing all of the new updates and everything that has changed.
MOVE ON. Stop whining about it all. Yeah i liked the old graphics, the armor designs, the combat system. But this game needed a change and it's for the best. They put so much work into these new updates. Give them some credit and stop being so rude to the designers and creators. They are just trying to make this a better game.

You admit to not being more responsive to the larger percentage of players who in 2012 have strongly and negatively made their opinions loud and clear about certain updates. Thousands upon thousands of posts asking you to revert things for your longer standing players mean't nothing to you or your team. Everything moves on and forward but not always for the good.

If you say 2013 is our year then prove it answer us properly instead of skirting around the edges if we get a response at all. Remove EOC or give us the option to use other worlds without EOC. Look after everyone who play and maybe numbers will increase. Stop continually dissapointing players who have been loyal to this game...we can only take so much. I hope that this time you do read and reply to these posts as I for one have put up with everything you think is for the good of the game, have tried all the new updates and some are ok but alot of the last 12 months was beyond dismal.

I have not played runescape since the eoc was released AGAINST MOST PLAYERS' WILL. I will not play again unless it is removed, not just "refined"-as you so encouragingly put it. I do find it cut though that mark ***hard has a plan for the future even though runescape truly has no future, because they feel it necessary to ignore their entire player base and continue with a failed project that they think will be super duper neat-o! No company can survive by using this method. Not only have they lost a large amount of players, many of those players will NOT tell their friends of the game or will speak very poorly of it. So thank you mark for making your legacy be that of a greedy man who sacrificed a great company for personal gain. Let the hating begin. I'm out, peace.

Entire 11 years i've played Runescape, i've always wanted more out of combat - i'm thrilled the EoC brought that and was a huge factor in me finding new life in the game. Please continue, it's only getting better from here on out."

If all that is true, why would you continue to play RS that whole time? You could have gotten the combat you prefer from any other game out there. It's like your saying, "I don't like this game but I'll continue playing so that maybe someday down the line they will change the essence of the game and then I'll like it."

If you try out a game and it isn't your thing, move on, don't stick around and push for it to become like all other mmorpg's out there at the expense of all those that enjoyed the combat style they preferred.

Rune$cape was so popular because it WASN'T like all the other offerings out there, it is becoming steadily less popular because it is becoming steadily more and more like all the rest. many of those that like the type of game Rune$cape is becoming are already hooked on whatever game they are playing that offered this style of game play back when Rune$cape didn't off it, some might switch over but many more won't because they have too much time invested in the other game(s).

I liked this game because it was laid back. It lost a lot of appeal when it changed. For me, I am still around merely to finish up some goals and once I accomplish those goals I'll likely stop playing entirely.

With the EoC came the end of me wanting to help low lvls by going out and getting them their planks for Dragonslayer because prayer is useless since it no longer protects 100% and if I get killed with no gear or items on me but the planks I went out to get for someone else I will still lose all 3 planks I went to get for them. What is my incentive to even try to help others now?

hi,
I have only one concern (complaint). It's the combat lvls. With the new way of calculating combat lvls, you need only two 99's to become maxed combat, not only do i feel this is unfair for those people who worked very hard to become maxed, but it is also very confusing, someone who was only 105 in the old cb can now be possibly lvl 200, and if you duel or box in your P.O.H. you have no way of knowing if someone has maxed combat skills or only the two 99's, do you think possibly there is some way to refine this? It's not feasible to look up every player your going to fight, there just isn't enough time to do so.

I want to give large KUDOS to jagex for all of the new player content, this game continues to hold my interest and frustrate me and make me laugh (quest puns being my favorites), it continues to be a challenging game in every way, I'm very pleased to hear there will be new skills this year...keep up the good work jagex.

I certainly hope you will respond to this as i see it is a recurrent theme in many posts on the forums.

This ENTIRE thread has become nothing but rubbish.

What JAGeX needs is an advisory panel, made of players with 10+ year old accounts that can PROOVE they're the original owners and still play RS consistently. They should head up what content gets added or not; not players that are 'high level' just because they're maxed. JAGeX needs to stop catering to them, especially since alot of them are spoiled kids that bought or otherwise somehow obtained a high level account. They're fakes and frauds. And since alot of them know NOTHING of the game, they certainly should have less bearing on the direction it takes, not more.

My thoughts of various aspects of RS 2012-Future:
EoC: Simplify it, don't add more to complicate it. This fuels frustration. Older players that don't like it - tough! The game evolved a bit. It's currently not that bad. (Except w60pengs vs PKers; that situation is outright stupid. So's the warning AFTER entering wildy.)

Bots: STOP the PM advert BOTs! They've got to go; and Skilling bots. They seem to ruin the economy most, but you focus on combat so much, you target those bots instead.

Content: Don't add so much so frequently. This game should be leisurely. It feels like it's a working effort just to keep up. Limit updates to 2 minor/major thing(s) MONTHLY.

Content: Update the base game! Adjust what content you already have! So much is outdated and needs revision over new garbage nobody really asked for nor needs!

Customer Service: Too often do I see staff dodging questions. That has to stop. Just be honest. And just because you can't win the debate, doesn't mean you need to ban somebody from Facebook because you can't hold your own. (I'd <3 to be able to post on there again - had a legit complaint - no spam, etc - got banned. Thanks for nothing Mod S*.) It's social media, you don't have to acknowledge us, but it's BS you ban people from a PUBLIC PAGE for a CONSUMER COMPLAINT.

... I'm sure I have other grievances. I'll leave this here for now.
