Mod MMG Posted something about RS3 earlier in this Thread. what he said explains why they don't make it as a new game.
If they make RS3, as a new game, they will have to force the players to start over again, from level 4. They didn't want to force us to do that. Therefore they are building some sort of RS3 by updating the graphics and stuff.
You don't see this as a problem, because you want to play RS2. But other players, like me, are not willing to start over again and do all those 8 years over. No, in my opinion is this the best way.
I DO see your point, but as MMG said, it's impossible without forcing people to start over.

Thats why Jagex should compromise, and btw i started playing in 03 or 04
This is my third pure from 07, i just used it because i was afraid that Jagex would be mad about me posting link to the petition
can they not just leave the ones that want to play EOC as they are and everyone who wants to play the earlier server start from the beginning, i would start over so long as there is no EOC.
You say you try to shape this game around us and yet your the reason I quit the game. I was hacked a long while back and I know who did it, but yet I cant get refunded. I lost everything I valued in the game and knew it would take to long to get back. If I were refunded I would play, but now I don't *ant to pay for membership knowing I would never get back to how I was.
Yes, there are alot bots. Bots are a huge problem. JaGeX knows that the bots are a huge problem. That's why they are currently developing BotWatch. BotWatch is already active on different locations****. on the Grand Exchange and in Dungeoneering.
But let's have a look at the numbers you gave. 75.000 players before and 45.000 players after the update. 30.000 people didn't log back in right after the update. For example are 5.000 people getting something to eat and/or drink after the update, so they are legit. the other 40.000 would be bots then.
This should mean that 33% of the accounts logged in before the update were using a bot. It's alot, and the amount will change this year. HTML5 is going to get rid of alot of bots.

We are happy to review requests for refunds on a case by case basis. However, refunds are not always possible to give for many reasons.
Unless required by law, we will not refund any amounts paid in relation to subscriptions, in-game activities, virtual items or virtual currency when:
» You have been the victim of in-game scamming, as there are many warnings about avoiding this on the Jagex Products (however, we will do everything we reasonably can to assist you to recover your accounts).
» You have been banned from a Jagex Product for violating these terms and conditions, any Rules of a Jagex Product or the user content policy.
» Jagex stops offering the Jagex Product or you decide to cancel your subscription or account.
If, after reading the above, you wish to request that we consider a refund, then please contact Billing Support for assistance, providing as much information as possible. Please note, refunds are given at the discretion of Jagex. If you are from the EU please also see "Right to cancel under Distance Selling Regulations" above.

I think that a hack is some kind of scam. Meaning they don't refund.
