On page 323 of the tech support linux thread HikariKnight has posted instructions on how to get an unofficial linux/unix port of the downloadable client. I personally have been using it while running Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon which is based on Debian, but I believe it traces it's liniage through ubuntu.

BTW, since the time of his posting that info HikariKnight has been made a forum mod over there.

i'm not a hater, but most of you probably think the same, since the release of the eoc, a huge amount of players quit, bcuz no-one liked it, it was true that you guys didn't listen too us, and i really well, WE really appreciate that you mod mark apologized, lets make 2013 a better rs, and not the dying rs what every1 talks about, and Runescape devoleped soo many updates since 2010, and alot of people telling we want 2006scape back, etc, believe me, no1 will like it cuz we all got attached too the graphics etc, well if we watch this good 2006 - 2013, i'd go for 2010 scape, cuz the graphics are good!, old armour are good, and 2010 had x4 many players as now, most people dont like the abilities, cuz i heard of tons of people its like a copy of league of legends, anyways mod mark thank you for the apology, and i hope we well have a splended new year with the old combat hopefully, *2010* :)

Jagex ihr habt sehr viele spieler verloren ist auch gut denn ich werde meine mitgliedschaft kündigen und jeden tag werden mehr leute aufhören als dazukommen

Ich Hoffe runescape geht pleite ihr hört nicht auf uns Jagex und sicherlich nicht auf auf deutschen welten ihr macht was ihr wolt.

I agree whole-heartedly with what you've said! Jagex seems to now try to compete with all these other types of games, but they don't seem to realize that if they played to their strengths, the very things that made them great to start with, that they would be a force to be reckoned with!

In their attempts to compete, I think they've lost sight of the very things that made them great to start with. To bottom line it, and I know it's been said (by me included) If I wanted to play W.O.W. (or any other game) I'd play it. They've already got it down and are playing up to their strengths. They don't have the glitches, bugs, bots, or any of the other problems I have to deal with day to day.

I'm getting close to my 10 year cape, but the greener pastures are looking better day by day. I'd hate to have all my hard work be for naught, but the *ood hasn't been outweighing it lately. I admit, there have been some REALLY good update I have very much enjoyed lately, bit it seems to me that the REAL issues aren't being taken care of. Jagex NEEDS to stop thinking as a company in search of profits (although I know for a fact that this is needed) and start acting more as a company that cares for its comsumers. I feel that if they do this, the profits will follow.

To bottom line it, while the short term feels good, the long term is more satisfying.

Jagex, I beg you, help keep this that game I fell in love with and enjoyed so much in playing all these years! You don't have to be like the "top cmpetitors" you were already in a league of your own, you just didn't realize it. I hope you don't figure it out before it's too late!

i think everyone is rushing to judge eoc...give it some time and u guys would like it too...sure its dif from old way of combat but the game would be pretty dull if everything was always the same

i think that if jagex spent the next few weeks fixing eoc instead of bringing new stuff everyone would be happy!?
