Personally I think Jagex needs to take things a bit slower. I found that in 2012 there was an overwhelming number of small, yet frequent updates. Then the eoc came along and people who couldn't cope basically quit. So my point is... Please Jagex pump the brakes, let eoc settle in, don't overwhelm us veterans who find it hard to cope. Runescape is a fantastic game, you really don't need to add new features so frequently. The game is almost too dynamic and it's off-putting. I just ask for a thoughtful decision in regards to the time of the implementation of the two new skills.

"But crucially, 2013 is about ensuring that your hard-earned legacy is respected – everything you've done and worked so hard to achieve will remain as amazing and relevant as it has ever been."

Thank you. :) That's really one of the most important things.

I do like EOC, and I do think it was a little bit rushed... but that does not mean it was a bad idea.
After playing on EOC beta servers, RuneScape it self was starting to get boring :/ After EOC update my combat skills especially slayer have been leveled up at last after years!! (I think 1 year to be exact?)
I have even finished many quests that I could find boring at many times
honestly EOC changed my gameplay to better dramatically...

The bad side about EOC is that I wish there was more abilitys and a much more balanced NPCs, armour and weapon system (Without making it harder for poor people like my self to keep up with the HUGE price changes :/)

Now EOC is effected by one important thing, the noticeable inflation in RuneScape economy which is caused by gamblers, gold sellers, and bots! (Why is because the armor and weapons for example for level 160 is DAMN expensive)
If you add a rule against gambling, economy will fix after a long term unless you decide to ban famous gamblers and huge gold sellers AND buyers ^_^

I am sorry for the long post and I am also sorry because my English is not good O_o

I totally agree with you Spiritberry. Jagex are bombarding us with new features, promotions, quests, minigames etc. Give us chance to get used to one before hitting us with the next. Many of the features that appeared in the last couple of years I have not even tried yet because either I was busy trying to master something else or a new feature appeared and knocked it into hiding.

Perhaps put the new skills on hold for twelve months and just let the game settle down.

There is no rush, I am prepared to play this game for many years..... if the game lasts that long and doesn't implode.

@is fat

No idea what you are talking about with inflation, i dont see that happen at all.
The only noticeble thing i* that there were major crashes when EoC was released.
Certen armour sets were fully nerfed in the beginning of the EoC and caused major crashes, second reason why everything crashed is because bosses were way to easy to kill.

funny how you say your are going to get rid of bots and today i see the big hand everywhere
ONLY problem is t is grabbing never before seen add bots as fast as they appear BOTS WHICH UNTIL TODAY i never saw at like lumby w44
BUT the bots that i have reported 4-10 times a day for over 5 weeks at that same spot are still there collecting from other bots
ODD how bots i never seen before appear JUST IN TIME for you to show us your on top of the bots BUT the ones that have been here still are
SO it would appear that these were conveniently made (by person or persons unknown) JUST in time so we can see you get them
Or you mostly go after those bots (ADD BOTS)who are trying to get our money instead of you
OR it is like all your promises a sham a con a misrepresentation to let your members feel better
OR JUST SOME ODD FREAK coincidence
funny how brand new add bots THE ONES EVERYONE CAN SEE AND NOT the ones we report you know the ones which affect the game the most are the ones you are grabbing AND so quick too it's almost like you knew where they were going to land before they landed
to all who in the past who i have made fun of for thinking jagex wasn't after real bots or told to grow up and let them do their job to you i say i am sorry you may of been right after all
but hey keep it up jagex it is a good show breaks up the routine a bit

every one keeps say " the graphics the graphics"

its not the graphics that the problem... love the new look of things in the game.

finnaly getting a work out for my video card,,,

its the mechanics of the game thats the problem... i dont like key mashing combat

as a person who has problems with my hands i chose to play this game because of the simple mechanical operations of combat,

if i wanted to play games that require tons of button pushing i would buy a home gaming system and play on that instead.

i sit at friends house whle they play thier xbox 360 or playstation 3 and watch them play i dont join in ,,, its not cause i dont like the games i do,,, but i cant hit the buttons correctly ,,, so runescape was a good alternative to that,,, but now its becoming more and more like button mashing games... and i dont like to play that way,

as some one pointed out momentum can allow some one to play the old way but its limited to wat 20 mins? and only after you button mash to get your adren up?
wats the point of that? let me do the old way from the very beginning of a battle and i wouldnt have a problem with eoc

First off, "However, looking back this was clearly still not enough for such a big update" about the Eoc preperations, No kidding! There are virtually no drops *or** picking up anymore from most creatures you fight, even slayer tasks. The combat has been made way too easy it's pathetic. I believe this was done to make the eoc update seem better even though it was a bad idea. I could go on indefintitely about eoc, but I'm sure it's been brought up and studiously ignored.

Anything bot related you have to say anymore is by me, given the same amount of attention you give you our feedback, which is to say none. It's all just you saying things to make us feel like you are doing something, but when I log in on any given day, I do -not- see ANY less bots than I did the day, week, or motnth before. It's sad really.

If you can't tell yet, I'm going down the list. Micro-payments, I don't mind. they've added a little bit of fun and flavor. They have initially been a little off-balanced and maybe not right for the game, but I've enjoyed some of it. I agree very much though that it "seemed" like they dominated some of the update, because they did. The promotions were misplaced as well. It seems that Jagex has been waaaaaay more focused on the money coming in and how they can earn it than on the actual players that shell that out to you. You need to focus more on long term and less on short term.

Under the first paragraph of game updates, I think a lot of those were good and fun updates. I would like to see Jagex focus more on a varied and enjoyable release of content rather than something you may think might earn you more cash.

I know times are difficult and companies are trying to maximize profits, but if you don't service your customers properly, someone else will! The Jagex I've seen lately isn't the Jagex that made me want to keep playing all those years ago. If I came across THIS version, I wouldn't have given it a second look let alone the time to sign up!
