hey jagex,
thanks for your reassuring post,
you have made it clear that you intend to "do better"; i hope you do.
as far as microtransactions, i have never liked them, but i assume it makes up for the money you have and are losing by standing up to bots
now, about 2013 updates:
plz make them more skill focused. 2012 was heavily combat focused in the nature of a lot of updayes, i hope till will change in 2013.
its nice to know you plan on reworking construction and summoning, buy maby you could update some of the older skills that have not seen much action in years such as wood cutting, mining, and theiving. Perhaps some lvl 90+ trees/rocks would be a nice start, and shure would hepl skillers make more bank than they can now!

Nice words jagex! That was a nice speech, but where are the actions?
You have stated rules on the game (like no RWT and no macroing). Bots over taken the game and we have SoF and SG* that's an unfair advantage where with REAL LIFE CURRENCY you can buy in game stuff/experience/money , I have to ask Why are there even rules if you CANT EVEN predict them?
2 of the points I'd like to comment

Bots & Gold Farmers: I hate that and I can even say that Jagex is supporting that by not banning them or taking actions against them. Well, they encourage to make players macro, thats the truth. I can tell you I botted with this account years ago to get 99 magic (starting from 85), and guess what happened, ONLY A 2 WEEK BAN nothing else, get your own conclusions on this topic. And about the removal of free trade, it seems to be the only solution against the heavy botting in the game, but personally I would hate that, I like the free trade, there should be another way to solve this problem.

Micropayments: Only to say, you can buy success in the game with REAL LIFE currency in SoF/SGS (Cash and experience). Its unfair, but jagex supports that way. There is a rule against RWT, but RWT (buying from SoF and SGS) with Jagex is legit and YOU WONT GET BANNED =)

This message I belive was. . . the most honest and truthful message I have ever seen from Jagex. It took the problems and achievments we have and put them down on paper (a screen in this case) without any sugarcoating or implicity. Mod MMG, thank you for your time to type this up for all the players. It helps us more than you think, and really gives us something to all agree on. You are a great CEO, thank you. :)

I would like to see f2p get worthwhile updates. It feels like we are being left behind in the dark with nothing but a few matches, while p2p is getting electrical headlamps. There are many reasons why f2p don't become p2p, but one of them is this: they simply can't afford to put real money into a game. Lately, f2p has been feeling like more of a demo rather than a full game.

I loved the update, but a lot of stuff i missed, first off this got me really mad is i cant use my poison weapons! I am a ranger and when im not using my bow i would love to use dual poison++ dragon daggers. Maybe downgrade the poison effect a bit though. I also kind of miss the special effects weapons have, with the new abilities i know this would be pretty stupid, but i still like the old combat, calling lightning down on an enemy with a saradomin sword or draining life with an abyssal whip.

With you saying, you're going to listen to the community more, this is our year. I do not see that happening. You know hundreds of thousands of people play private servers to get a good feel of the old graphics and old combat system. When I played in 2006, it seemed more of a community than a bunch of twelve year olds gambling and doing PVM. As one person in a large amount of people I would say make a seperate old graphics server. You did it with rs classic, you have the source codes, why not?

All of the things you said are fine and dandy MMG but you just think you're too good to go back to your roots. You neglected RSC 10x more than you've neglected your RS2 players.. And when a plants roots die due to not taking care of it, the plant goes soon after.

Let me just give you a few examples:

Bank glitch caused RSC players to not be able to play for WEEKS, because you guys couldn't make a phone call and reboot a server (or possibly walk into the other room).

You let bots roam RSC, it's infested. Nobody is scared to bot on RSC. Because everyone knows you as CEO do not care about RSC because it doesn't make you much money.

You couldn't even rid a player that was destroying the game with the HELP of a JAGEX MODERATOR. A player that has FLOODED the economy with gold and items, ill gotten WITH THE HELP of one of YOUR workers. We tried to contact you. We reported. We gave you names. The ONLY GOD DAMN RESPONSE WE GOT was "We have forwarded it to the relevant people". Yet this player is STILL selling the items for real money, and is STILL here, after SIX MONTHS of waiting for you ****** to do something.

You closed us off. Shut down our supposed to be regular re-opens. You left us for dead.

You guys do what you want with RS2. RS2 is long gone for me. But soon, if you keep neglecting the game that GOT YOU THIS FAR, then I'll be gone too. And so will many other loyal players that have played 10+ years and is honorable enough to stick with the game they love.

You, MMG, and the company under you, Jagex, have failed to impress me with anything you've done in the past five years.

So, you want to make me happy? You pay more attention to a game that's STILL labled a Jagex game, or you sell it to someone who will care about it. The game is dying in your hands.

And until you have more respect for your past, **** you Jagex.

My final day is coming soon, even for the original game I love.

What beats me is how you're going to say, "I don’t believe we’ve ever actually thanked our members for helping us to make RuneScape into the incredible game it is today.." after what 12 years of the existence of this game? That's pretty ridiculous. Also I'm sure a large amount of people never even tried the beta so the statistics you got from that were biased, I'm sure even more people would like the old gameplay back as this is probably just too complicated for some people. I suppose you're aiming at the more mature teens now instead of the whole range, which I'm not sure is a good idea for you. Anyhow, I only play to war with my clan and that's it, I don't like what this game has become and I've been here for every evolution, Runescape Class/RS2/EOC. You tried to make this game like other RPG's, I believe that was a mistake.
