RS isn't a sacred cow :) People are waaaay to precious. "My sword is now 1/10th the shade of blue it was in 1985...waaaaaah!" So what, lol.

Players buy crappy games from other developers for far more money and have no expectations that anything will ever be fixed. Is there another game available with a more responsive development team? Nope.

2013 -the year the players chill out and laugh when things go pear shaped & send cookies & coffee to the poor guys who have been at their developers laptops for 14hrs straight!!!

Less is more though - less new content - more quality control - we don't NEED 100s of sparkly new things every month - it's better if it fully works.

I look forward to RS 2013. I anticipate good updates this year and many fixes that have been needed.
I don't want to do away with SoF or SGS, but I would like to see improvements on their content. While I have been all-the-while trying to explain other players exactly the views on Jagex's reason for adding micro-transactions (which is now in plain view in the OP) I do partially agree with a few arguments player have with them:
1. Some of the content in SGS are a bit over-priced (take the costume packages for example. A person in the US has to pay about 40-50 USD to obtain this. I would know, I have Assassin's, Ariane's, Ozan's, and Dwarven sets.) Another good example would be the SGS Pets.
2. I also would like to see the SGS Bank Expansions be moved to something else, like the loyalty shop. I believe the SGS should just be left to optional cosmetics so that the players can just opt to pay cash for cosmetics only, this way the Bank expansions can be given to your loyal members over time, and not have to pay money for extra space. Members benefits were supposed to include extra bankspace anyways, why not just add this as an "added loyalty benefit" for the members who stay with you over time?
3. I think Squeal of Fortune was a great thing when it came out, as it added something that felt like a Daily Login Reward. I also liked the idea of getting free spins from quests, and Daily Tasks. However, I still do not really like the idea of being able to buy the spins, this feels like RWT, no matter if it's to support the game's growth or just extra pay in the paychecks. I really think this could be tweaked. If you insist on continuing to sell spins for SoF, I think the rewards should be tweaked. Keep the Exp Pendants and Prized Pendants as well as Skilling Outfits, add more Cosmetic/Functional gear like the Shark fists and Tzhaar whips, as well as the Queen's guard and Ceremonial dragon sets, remove Large Gold prizes. More than 100K is way too much.
These are my views.

I'd like to have some insight on why the Christmas presents were so heavily advertised about their arrival, but just quietly deleted. This frustrated many players, including myself, who felt very cheated by the fact these were so difficult to obtain, yet stolen from us without significant warning. I very much would have liked to have make one last collection, should I have been given more notice.

Abs L "hopefully you can aspire to be as good a company as Blizzard entertainment & the likes."
That's actually the wrong direction you want to go in. Blizzard never reads reports, so just ignore that statement above

I agree and disagree. Blizzard is a huge company with 10x the funds that jagex has. That being said, from a financial standpoint I do hope that they reach the level that blizzard is at. Whil WOW has a lot of great things I would like to see similar in runescape (instances and raids in rs would be epic, and with the kk being instanced it looks like a possibility) there are just as many things I wouldn't want in rs.

While on that topic, huge instances where you join a group of 20 people to go through a huge dungeon or something and fight off multiple bosses on the way that you could do once a week with huge drops would be soooo epic in rs!

They did warn us nearly 2-3 times.
They announced that:
1. The Presents will not be available to be obtained after December 31st, and
2. The Presents will be removed completely from the game after January 31st.

They gave us fair warnings dude.

i didnt know why we had things like SoF and SGS until reading this, but i see it is going to a good cause. as for new content the new quests should be REAL quests, like while guthix sleeps, not a tough puzzle and an insane boss like nomad, although a mixture of long noncombat, little fights in between, but not too often, and ending in an insane boss would be nice. also keldgrim, ardougne, and a few othe places are in need of graphic updates bad. thank you and i am looking forward to see how the game plays out through the next year.(one more thing if its not too much to ask, its kind of boring with 600 people a world, so some commercials on tv may get more players and money for you)

I'd like to thank everyone at Jagex for the work they have done since I began playing in 2005. A lot has changed, for better and worse, though I still find myself logging in to endure my adventure. I've never been apart of such a unique online community for so long. I love RuneScape, and I'm very excited to see where our future (as players) is going. Keep up the great work, guys. I support you know what's best for us. But... As you know, there's much more to be done. I've noticed over the recent years 'communication' has increased, which has been splendid. Thread posts are being followed up often as ever, sometimes with replies. I just ask the team really does save this as a priority, and to not segregate discussion and feedback based on status either (Pmod/Fmod), because it's not fair - we're all equal, and need to be heard to improve our game experience.

===

There's just one subject I've especially not been too fond of, which has impacted the game (in my opinion) very negatively... Gambling. I know you say it's being looked into, and safer alternatives are 'in the works,' but I definitely don't know if I agree the demand for that 'type of game-play' is worth feeding. You guys know what's best, I don't, but I don't think giving in to these players is the answer.

Gambling takes RuneScape from a skill to money-focused game. Instead of training and working hard to level *tats, players are becoming greedy, and gaining achievements from just spamming "H/c" messages and standing. I say get rid of items such as Mithril seeds, etc, period. More and more gambling hosts are viewed with partyhats everyday, and I'd like to think if I purchase an item such as with hard-earned cash, it would mean something. Endless alternatives to gaining Coins are out there, and that's part of the challenge. I feel releasing an update supportive of gambling would take away from that challenge, and help keep money the only focus.

Cheers to year 2013, thanks <3.

I think the update that disappointed me the most was the removal of F2P accounts from the hiscores. This signified to me the direction that Jagex were going in - money, money, money.

In the 6/7 years I've played this game I've probably spent near £100 on membership. I've amassed millions of exp, two 99s and 1984 total level. Yet because I don't continue to pay a subscription, my achievements are no longer acknowledged. I know a lot of experienced F2Pers who have ditched the game entirely because of this update.
