"Ultimately those who use bot scripts and abuse exploits are HARMFUL TOWARDS THE ECONOMY OF RUNESCAPE, and are not the type of individuals that we want as part of our community."

Harmful? You let players get 200m from spinning a stupid wheel. Weapons and armour CRASHED because of eoc which 75% of the players didn't even want.

You think banning a small portion of bots is going to make people get interested again and play this game? Most of us know this is just petty propaganda because if you ban all the bots, you guys will go bankrupt considering at least 50% of people on at all times are just bots.

I do not want you, Jagex, as part of this community anymore, you should have left a long time ago and leave the game alone.

I'm sorry but I don't believe Jagex are serious about reducing bots. Historically bots have been at brutal dragons - this is documented on rune w**i as being a long standing problem. I have recently been farming charms near the brutals in the ancient Cavern, and was amazed to see how many bots there were. So I started reporting them. Then I checked the forums and saw how many posts there were on this subject, most asking a mod to visit and take action. I haven't yet found any satisfactory response (if any!) from a mod on this subject, despite asking for one.
The bots are still there and I cannot understand why something so easy to detect has been remained ongoing.

I stand to be corrected ofc, and would really appreciate to hear from a mod regarding this.

That's a goofy statement to say to the very same company who created this revolutionary game in the first place.

Use your head. Cheating is cheating. No matter what angle you approach it. Every single one of you who complains how Jagex is out to get people are just selfish. None of you work for them or even know anything that goes into what they do.

This company has made incredible strides in such a short amount of time. They won't go bankrupt. Runescape has an immense fan base and even bigger player base. Runescape has revolutionized MMOs.

Keep it up Jagex.

A step in the right direction Jagex... Still, I haven't seen any proof myself yet except spam bots being killed by the hand of doom.

Please please please please please look at the Great Orb Project as far as F2P botting is concerned, I've been there lately and they're all bots. About 30+ on w61, there was only 1 other human and they've generally ruined the whole mini game (except the fact I win all the time now) It's sad to see something that always had a good friendly community of higher levelled F2Pers and P2Pers get consumed by botting :/ SORT THIS OUT.

Someone here suggested a list of names of banned people standing by the entrance of the Grand Exchange. I believe that's a great idea!

What also would be really helpful for Jagex to seem truthful is getting feedback from them about reports that you made: how about a feature that you can turn on and off that tells you in the chatscreen: "Uxer (X) who you have reported for botting has been confirmed to be a bot and has been banned for (X) days / permanently." ?

Of course this would mean that it must become impossible to report the same person twice in a certain amount of time, otherwise Jagex would get spammed by impatient people making reports for the same person over and over again.
