I like to start by saying, what the hell did you just do? Lets just take a look at this.
You have gone and banned people who have abused bugs in a recent game update, whos fault is this? If your coding was wrong and the update had bugs that could be abused then yes, some people will abuse them. For the most part you should probably test your updates more before releasing them rushed and bugged, maybe start by fixing many of the current bugs with your big EOC update.
Here is what made me mad, and realisticly many people mad. You tittled this botters and cheaters banned. I like botters and cheaters getting banned. But here is what you did, you said "We want to reconfirm our commitment to the RuneScape community that we are taking steps every day to rid RuneScape of any and all bots. Nobody is exempt from this, whether it’s a fresh account or a paying maxed-out player." I thought to myself, oh if they hammered the accounts that exploited the bugs then the bots must me gone! Well a little run to frost dragons showed me that no, if any banning was done it was maybe 1% of the accounts. Im serious, if I was a Jagex mederator who could perma ban for just one week, and i could only play my 3-4 hours a day i single handedly could clean out 90% of combat bots alone. I would have to be close to mentaly dead not to know who was a bot and who wasnt. And its not an issue that anyone is blind about, i have yet to ask someone "do you know if their are bots in this game?" and they reply with "im not sure." And THESE are the REAL WORLD TRADE BOTS. THESE are the BOTS that are RUINING this game.
But sure, dont ban them, they do provide atleast 50% of your income. Just deal with the many player like me who complain and nag about them and go home at the end of the week with your big fat cheque. But dont worry, this game is dying because if this.
