I agree, it's charming game. From the moment I saw *he half-timbered houses in Lum, I was in love with rs. The degree of attention to small details is about as good as it can get for a browser-based game. I also enjoy the whimsical, and sometimes humorous element of some quests. The game, in and of itself, is actually pretty good. Now for the bad news: bots. Yes, I know. I'm sick of hearing about them, too. Unfortunately, bots are a reality in rs, as they are in any other profitable MMO. What sets rs apart from other games isn't the fact that there are bots, but the sheer numbers of bots. I mean, Holy (multiple expletives deleted), the masses of bots running freely everywhere money is to be made is astonishing. We applaud Jagex's attempts to limit botting...any news of high lvl accounts caught botting being banned is certainly good news. However, even the most casual of players cannot but be struck by the fact that bots operate in rs with complete impunity, without fear. Worse, the bots don't even make the slightest attempt to disguise the fact that they are bots. It's like they thumb their colllective noses at Jagex, just daring them to do anything about them. It's pretty sickening. Honestly. I was ambivilent about bringing Free Trade back. I wasn't strongly against it, or for it. I think the evidence is in, now: it was a very bad decision. I also hear that the vote was "rigged"...ppl voting "yay" didn't even need to log in, but those voting "nay" did have to? I still think this game is worth salvaging. Flashing us with new content while ignoring the rot at the core isn't the way to do it. I'd even consider going over Jagex' heads and addressing IVP, saying: "Hey, these clowns are losing you money....toss them out and hire competent people". Now I'm breathing harder and my pulse rate is up. Yeah, I do get a little emotional, I guess...when it comes to seeing a game I love going down the drain.
